Hello everyone, how are you? I am just little confused on why the regular interviews have not started 'yet'? I am not an active member on this website and I only check like once in 2 weeks but it is been 3 months since the ban on immigration got lifted (22 June). I  emailed Islamabad embassy twice this month and received no reply. Are they short staffed? If they are then why don't they just post that on social media. There is seem to be a lot of miscommunication I think. Then last week I heard that they resumed canceled interviews but again that news is also not official since they did not post anything on their website. Again, this is not a rant but I am just confused with different information. I am waiting just like others and that is okay but they really need to update their website/social media on regular basis of what is going on. Thank you for your time everyone.

The April 22 (PP 10014) ban wasn't lifted on that date, it was extendedhttps://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2020/06/25/2020-13888/suspension-of-entry-of-immigrants-and-nonimmigrants-who-present-a-risk-to-the-united-states-labor "Continuation of Proclamation 10014. (a) Section 4 of Proclamation 10014 is amended to read as follows: “Sec. 4. Termination. This proclamation shall expire on December 31, 2020, and may be continued as necessary. Within 30 days of June 24, 2020, and every 60 days thereafter while this proclamation is in effect, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Labor, recommend any modifications as may be necessary.”"

But IR-1/CR-1 visas weren't affected by April 22 proclamation because spouses of US citizens are exempt.

Theyre giving out interview dates to those who had it before covid and than got cancelled . No new date or cases from nvc.

Ah it depends on your case,I don't know the status of your case but you will have to wait patiently like others.

Mine is IR1/CR1. I understand we all are in this together but for how long? They are not posting any updates and since been such a long time (3 months) since ban is lifted. They need to update their social media about this.

Well have you considered expediting? They are doing those if you are eligible.

Islamabad embassy has a very low chance of expediting the case. You really need to have a strong reason for expediting.

My sister-in-law who works closely with the embassy said that they were scheduling interviews last week and expected that we would have an announcement by the end of last week. Well last week came and went with no news. But we had members on VJ state that the ones who had their interviews initially canceled due to Covid are being scheduled for interviews October 13th. However as far as I know these are the only interviews being scheduled and this may be the case for the next couple of weeks. These members were initially document qualified back in February 2020.

My assumption is that once they have worked through the backlog of canceled interviews and start resuming NEW interviews, we will see an announcement. This is a worst case scenario as other embassies announced their opening within a week or two of scheduling their own canceled interviews. So let’s see, I think we will almost certainly see an announcement in the next 3 weeks, but I have been wrong before (about last week). The Islamabad embassy is opening much slower than others.

Ah probably they have interview date schedule for other dates to,just not only Oct 13th.i am pretty sure about that.i guess they want to speed up the process cause they were closed for 5 months and they have a big backlog of cases.
