Thank you so much!! Any information we recieve in these dark hard times are lights in our life  😩❤  Did you get dq at end of april or beginng ?

Last week of April for us. Hoping to get interview scheduled before the end of the new year. I will go back and would be able to accompany her to the interview if that happens.

Great! Definitely agree with your prediction. I had a slightly more optimistic timeline since I’m guessing they will be working overtime to bring interview wait times to a manageable duration. This is what many other embassies are doing. Also, since other types of visas are suspended, they should have extra time to work on Spousal visas.

In terms of why there hasn’t been an announcement. I’m expecting one later this week. From what I have seen, Interview

requests preceded a formal announcement.

Still no announcement, fingers crossed. Hopefully soon In sha Allah

I have a question. What happens to the police certificate? Like will my husband need updated police certificate too? What are the updated documents we can take from ceac?

I will say go with the safer option and that is to get a new updated police certificate.

I asked this same question to the NVC representative and she said to get one and submit to NVC and if it expires before the interview due to COVID related delay then just get a new one before your interview and bring it to the embassy with you at the time of the interview and give it to the officer.

From what’s been happening at other embassies, they usually start sending out interview dates before making a formal announcement. If the interview was scheduled for October 13th, then that’s great news and the announcement I have been told about could be about opening of CR1 interviews. We will know later this week, likely Thursday or Friday.

I doubt they will close the embassy again due to Covid unless the case load becomes much, much worse. Hopefully they can get through the backlog of interviews quickly.

@SMirza please read all posts on this forum... :)

Yes, it’s been especially tough this year. I have seen two nikkah’s break as a result of the delay. It was already a year long process, now jade even longer. Forcing married couples stay apart for 18 months or more is quite terrible and inhumane.

But since we finally have good news, things should move along much faster now.

I agree.... 😕

When can we expect US embassy Islamabad to reopen?

I know no one can tell the exact date, but what do you guys think.

Our case was in AP and I recently received an email saying that out case is out of AP and we need to wait for embassy to contact us for further processing.

We are like really losing hope now because of this pandemic.

Out of AP? Like if u are out of AP it means your case processing is done completely I don’t get then y and how come your husband not getting visa? I don’t understand this can someone plx explain it to me , has it ever happened to someone else?
