Still nothing after biometrics here. Main application changed to fingersprints were taken and everything else still says received. No card, I-944 RFIE or interview in sight lol.
So annoying. Had to contact my health insurance today as they wanted to know why I didn't have a SSN.

USPS Priority Mail (Regular Mail), so the P.O. Box address.

My cases status changed to RFE response received in a day :) It is surprisingly fast. My bet is that since they have sent tons of RFEs regarding I944, almost all the cases are now frozen. Hence, once our RFEs responses reach their offices, they tend to reply fast. Maybe my guess is correct, maybe it is just a wrong idea :)

Are you done with biometrics?

True, I hope they can start sending bio appointments etc. No bio yet

Of course not. I am at Seattle and biometrics here is a nightmare. My  only hope is that after my RFE response and as I am employment based (they tend to waive interviews) they will send my biometrics appointment. It will be my very last step. But again this is a hope.

Ohhh man. Biometrics is a joke. They have to find a way to clean the backlog. Otherwise the whole process will collapse. There is no point of waiting for ever without EAD card or Advance to Parole

Yea that is what it says, will

give it a couple more days as it looks like a coincidence

Someone reported a medical AND 944 RFIE a few days ago, so it could be that, but they were asked to send the medical in.

If nothing shows up after x days then you can request a digital copy, (at least that’s what it said for our 944 RFIE notification), so you’ll get resolution on this. May just take a while.

Question regarding Health Insurance, so from my understanding Private non-subsidized Health Insurance is a "heavily positive" factor but you can still use a subsidized plan like Obamacare/ACA for i-944 and that would be considered a "positive" factor so obviously not as good as non-subsidized but at least it's better than submitting i-944 without any insurance. Also Obamacare/ACA isn't a Public Benefit so it wouldn't be terrible for i-944.

That's the route I'm thinking i'm going to go with I think.

Sorry double post, I found this. And I found Plans anywhere from $5-$100 because I made so little last tax year and can't work right now, and it's open enrollment right now so getting Health Insurance shouldn't be a problem.

Health insurance that is not considered a public benefit under the definition[33] but may be considered a public benefit in other contexts unrelated to public charge, would be considered a positive factor, but not a heavily weighted positive factor. For example:

  • Medicaid for applicants under the age of 21;

  • Medicaid for pregnant women (including 60 days after pregnancy);

  • CHIP/State Children’s Health Insurance Plan (SCHIP); and

  • Health Marketplace subsidized insurance.

Hi. I need some advice regarding i944..

so I got the rfie, and I have the form completed from a few months ago. I however have an issue getting the evaluation of equivalency for my bachelors I did back in my home country.
Due to Covid it’s a nightmare getting a transcript from my past university back in my home country. Tried using the online provisional transcript on IEE but that didn’t work.

do you think I should go ahead and submit my i944 form with other supporting docs including a copy of my bachelors degree and include a written explanation that due to Covid at this time I wasn’t successful at getting an evaluation of equivalency???

((then in a month or so when I get this document I mail it to them?

I wonder how I got my bio appointment done a few weeks after my application was submitted. It's all so weird.

What's your ASC location? If it's low traffic + was not that impacted by COVID (there is an individual factor here, if a # of employees involved with biometrics at a certain location got sick that will bring the place to a standstill regardless of how much or little traffic they get) then there's a chance the backlog was simply not as bad there so they were able to fit you in close to on schedule.

You can get a sense of how backed up individual offices are by comparing the # of records for the past 180 days here: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php  I think it's safe to assume that these numbers can be extrapolated for the overall population.

For example our office (Los Angeles) has 30 records for the past 180 days. But nearby-ish San Bernadino has a third of the records (10) and that area was generally less aggressive about COVID closures/policies during the past summer, so I wouldn't be surprised if people in that region are receiving biometrics soon if not already, whereas we probably have some months to wait still.

USCIS may even be doing applicants who have taken biometrics a "favor" by holding the 944 RFIE to process the AP / EAD before they send it, so the case isn't frozen and then the EAD/AP can be granted either before the 944 RFIE is sent or shortly after it's returned if the work has already been done.

I don't think many (any?) have reported receiving both biometrics and the RFIE yet, but would expect that to start happening soon-ish for people who took biometrics in the past month or so.

We received biometrics and RFIE. We received the RFIE a few days ago and the biometrics appointment was 9 days ago.

Excellent!! Have you submitted? I'm interested to see what the timing on EAD/AP is for you, that will tell us a bit about how they're approaching things.

Hi guys,

I received the biometric letters in my mailbox today, but I saw something weird.

My wife's letter says that her biometric is for 485 and 765.

My letter says that my biometric is only for 485.

Have you guys ever seen it before?

It seems my biometric will not be related to my 765. Should I be worry? Should I talk to officer about that?

In addition, did anyone here need to take your children or baby together?

My babies don't need to take biometrics (they were born here), but I really don't have anyone to take care of them while I will be there.

That's my concern because the letter says "due to Covid rules, no family members, etc"

What do you guys think about these two subjects?

I would love to hear opinions and experiences.

Thanks.
