Biometrics notice came in the mail today for the I-485 and I-765, not for the I-131 though. Does she need to attend another appointment as well for the I-131, or will this one be good enough? Thanks

AP request based on pending I-485 doesn't require biometrics. Only AP request done outside the US based on humanitarian reasons or for significant public benefit requires biometrics: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-131instr.pdf Page 12

Looks like you got the correct notice "I485 - I765":

@mogiftney Congrats!
I was taking a look at your timeline and it seems you haven't sent your Form I-944 yet.
Is that correct?

So, in that case, did you receive the biometric appointment first?
Thanks.

I haven’t gotten an RFE yet, and I did not send the I-944, you are correct, I received the biometrics appointment notice before the I-944 RFE, which I still have not received.

How bad is it to miss the biometrics appointment? We sent in the paperwork at the end of August, check was cashed mid September, and sometime around mid October USCIS mailed out the biometrics appointment. The appointment was on the 21st of October and we were out of town for a few days and didn’t get the letter until we got back on the 22nd of October. Grrr...

The letter says if you miss the appointment your application will be considered abandoned. We requested a new appointment.

Oh no! That's really unfortunate! I'm really sorry to hear...

You should definitely call USCIS first thing in the morning and try to escalate the issue and see what can be done. I haven't heard of any case like this, but it doesn't look good if they already state on the letter what's the consequence for not showing up. They might have some flexibility, though, due to COVID so I think it's worth trying to see if they could accommodate you on a new date. Worst case scenario, I would seek legal advice to check if there's anything that can be done to avoid having to start all over again.

For the worksheet page that’s attached to the biometrics notice that my wife takes in to the appointment, does she give them the original or a copy?

Congrats on getting your appt! We have a very similar timeline- from England, currently in CA, same timings of filing. Fingers crossed we might get our biometrics soon too (although we aren’t in the same city and I know each city has its own wait times for biometrics).

P.s - I appreciate all of the detail in your timeline!

My case changed to "Request for Initial Evidence Was Sent" (not sure why the wording is different). Did you sign the G-1145? In any case, USCIS is super inconsistent and my case only updated a week AFTER I received the letter. And even after 2 weeks that they have received my response (I checked on their chat), the status remains the same.

I receive the RFIE today. It was for medical and I944. I haven’t submitted medical initially.

Did yours ask for medical? Did you submit medical initial?

@lstm No, I sent my medical with my I-485 application. I only got an RFIE for I-944.
