I have a non-immigrant visa (F-1) and I was able to create one just fine. I don't remember exactly what I did to create one, though.

I created an account and I didn’t have n A-number.

Ok so let me get this totally straight, with concurrent filing of i130/1485 4 receipt numbers is it right?

Yes, I got all 4 today. Separate numbers and try came as 4 separate pieces of mail.

My lawyer caught the change of 765 form just before we sent in our package.

How about here in Miami? We have Kendall Office and Miami Office. Both offices in the same City basically. Which office would have my AOS case? Does anyone know?

i did have the initial biomterics in the Miami office. But later for the 130 interview, that took place in the Kendall Office.

Generally, biometrics are scheduled to be at Application Support Centers (ASC), not in actual USCIS Field Offices (FO). So the average waiting time for biometrics, depends on the amount of cases serviced by an ASC. You can see which ASC service the cases in your Zip Code here: https://egov.uscis.gov/office-locator/#/asc

Biometric appointments are scheduled while the case is being processed by the NBC. When the corresponding Local Field Office is available to receive I-485 applications, NBC will transfer the next application in the queue. The corresponding Field Office is generally assigned based on where the applicant lives; you can find out which FO could be yours by inserting your Zip Code here: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-a-uscis-office/field-offices

(It should be noted that at any time USCIS may transfer a case to another Field Office with a lower workload to facilitate the processing of applications)

On the other hand, I-765 and I-131 (for those waiting for a combo card), are adjudicated by NBC and not the Local Field Office.

Great info. I did so and it returned that the FO assigned to me is Miami.

Do you happen to know if this would be the reason why my I-131 interview took place in Kendall? would that mean that my case is being handled by Kendall and not Miami?

Thanks!

Interview for 131?

ASC for biometrics is not necessarily at the same place as the Field Office. When I filed, my FO was in CT and my ASC was in NY.

Transfers to Other USCIS Offices

To process applications faster, we may move some of our application work to other field offices. Therefore, you might receive a notice (for example, for an interview or a Request for Evidence) that comes from another field office that has not handled your case before.

I found this on the USCIS website. Hope this can help 😊

I'm applying from an H1B visa, and my receipt notice date is September 4 (Received August 17 through the Phoenix lockbox). I called them because I got a second I-485J receipt (apparently normal for applicants in EB2 category), and casually asked about the biometrics. The agent said that they're delayed, but that I might get mine in a few weeks (not months), so that's a slightly positive news for those who are waiting. I'm sure it's somewhat different for family-based visa applicants, but at least cases are being processed and moving, albeit slowly. Hang in there!

Nice to meet another one Eb2 category ;) Could I ask which city is your ASC? Mine is at Seattle and I don't really hope that I will get biometrics appointment soon enough :(

Funny part: My application has been received also on Aug. 17th and it is an Eb2 case. Also, I have received receipts for fee waiver for I-485J ;)

Haha I haven't been assigned ASC yet! My I-485J fee waiver is dated September 4, but I didn't get it until today... My status online says to contact them if I don't receive the receipt by September 16, but obviously I didn't know that I needed to contact them without my receipt number... haha.

Great! ASC center depends on the city you currently live and the address USCIS has in file. Mine is at Seattle :(

8/16 Mailed AOS via USPS

8/17 Tracking showed delivered to Chicago Lockbox

8/24 I-485 shows Fingerprint Fee Received

8/25 Checks cashed

8/26 NOA

8/26 I-765 shows Case Updated to Show Fingerprints Were Taken

I'm under DACA, so I'm assuming they used my biometrics from that. Also, my husband and I have been married for almost 3 years if that makes a difference. I also sent in medical eval with the packet, along with the new form proving self sufficiency.

Does anyone know what happens after this?

Hey Karen! Waiting game it looks like. Can you provide any updates? I filed a similar case this month and would love to follow along.
