I would consider even sending the I-944 and the other supporting documents you have. If they need it they will just send you an RFE. But in the meantime Reach our to each credit company and tell them what you are looking for. They made me send a fax on my name ,Dob,  and some identifications and then they sent me a letter in the mail saying they have no record under the information I provided.

Unless you're 100% sure that they'll only send an RFE instead of an outright rejection for this, I wouldn't recommend sending in an incomplete form. They were pretty aggressive about rejecting packets for 944 issues when they first implemented it earlier this year, and the instruction is pretty clear:

Quote

If you do not have a credit report or credit score, provide documentation that demonstrates that you do not have a credit report or score with a credit bureau. You may provide evidence of continued payment of bills if there is no credit report or credit score

According to USCIS they're not rejecting forms filed without a 944 for a bit, so I'd submit the packet without the 944 to get in under the existing fee structure and then handle the social security in the meantime, as you said.

Try not to let it get you down, same thing happened last month. Some apps just get the magic carpet treatment!

I have read the instructions @partyintheUSA! I guess I am just a stresser. This is my list of info. Please let me know if it is OK. My three year old has to do one too and she is going to have.. nothing. I assume I still include my husbands W2, bank accounts etc for her, right? I am trying to think what it would even look like at this stage lol. P and B stand for petitioner and beneficiary of course.

Anyway this is my stuff. I studied English and Japanese at university so that degree is my proof of both. (Lucky me!)

· Copy of W2’s for the past 3 years Household Income (P)
· Copy of IRS Tax Transcripts for the past three years (P)
· Copy of Employment Letter (P)
· Household Assets and Resources (P and B)
· Bank Account (3 months of Bank Statement) (B)
· Bank Account (3 months of bank statements) (P)
· 401K (P)
· Credit Card Score and Report Documentation (B)
· Health Insurance (P and B)
· Student loan debt (B)
· Marriage Certificate (P and B)
· Daughters birth certificate (B)
· Education (High school, TAFE, university certificates + ECE evaluation) (B)

(Should I include a letter of how much child support my ex pays me? He actually pays me more than the required amount though but)

Thanks!

Anyone know how to get a letter saying no credit score? We were like 2 days away from sending,  now that it’s required again I was thinking of sending in the applications without the i944 form and waiting for an rfe because it says until October 13 and I don’t want to have to pay two fees after October 1 but it will take me too long to get all the documents for the i944

what a mess

Hey! It is pretty easy. You can call TransUnion and explain them that you are an AOS applicant with USCIS and do not have a credit report/score, therefore you need a letter from them in which the agency states that you do not have a credit report or they are unable to locate it. I did so, and I had my letter in the mail in 5 exact business day. And for free :)

I filed AOS on July 31st and did include the I-944, even though I was not required to do so, since the July 29th Injunction was in place, and I enclosed the letter from TransUnion.

So ridiculous that you need a form for a three year old (!) but yes, assuming she's part of the household, follow those same instructions and include the same household member info.

Nothing immediately jumping out as missing from the documentation list but again as these are so specific to the individual only you can really know what you need to include at the end of the day. Just go through the instructions line by line and I'm sure you'll be good -- the 485 was less straightforward IMO and you got that one fine!

If the child support is NOT included in your tax return transcript, you should absolutely disclose it.

Quote

Item Number 6. Additional Income. If you or your household members received additional income on a continuing weekly, monthly or annual basis for the most recent tax year (for example, child support, unemployment benefits) and the income was NOT included in your or your household member’s tax return transcript, provide the amount of additional income and all information requested. For information on non-taxable income see https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/ p525.pdf. Also, provide evidence of the additional income from any source in the United States or outside the United States in U.S. dollars.

If the child support is disclosed, but separately there's a reference to how much it should actually be and and it's apparent he's paying more, then I would write a small note explaining that, to avoid any potential for confusion.  My general approach is to err on the side of disclosure while making sure that the USCIS officer is never surprised or confused by any information they find.

I'm under DACA, so I'm assuming they used my biometrics from that. Also, my husband and I have been married for almost 3 years if that makes a difference. I also sent in medical eval with the packet, along with the new form proving self sufficiency.

Does anyone know what happens after this?

Some amount of waiting, hopefully not too long. A map showing AOS processing times by location was recently posted here if you want to get a general sense.

Specifically, for the 485, they'll either use your existing biometrics and the case will update from fee received to show fingerprints taken, or you may receive a Biometrics appointment notice in the mail if they require different biometrics to process that form. (Not all biometrics are equal, there are different codes which require different levels of printing.)

So for now keep an eye on the mail and your status checker and one of those two will happen. (As far as how long, it could take months, really depends on how backed up your local office is.)

Today, USPS informed delivery shows 3 USCIS envelopes addressed to my wife coming in the mail soon! Yay!

Are three NOA1’s typical? She filed the travel document and employment authorization applications concurrently with the I-485.

also... is that what the EAD and AP sections of the timeline on this website are for?

Yes typical and yes what the sections are for.

I wonder when we will start to see our status' changed to RFE issued due to not including the I-944. I have been working on mine but I feel like it is a waste of time if we don't get RFE but we probably will so. I am not sure what to do! I have all of my paperwork. It is just a matter of filling out the form and printing some things off so I honestly could have it done between the time it took to see the status change and have the letter in my hand.

They’ll definitely issue an RFE to everyone who filed before OCT. 13th 2020 who didn’t include the I-944, I read that on the USCIS website so I’d definitely plan as if it will absolutely be guaranteed to happen. I also wonder when we will receive the RFE’s as my wife is currently uninsured and open enrollment doesn’t start until November 1st, it would be amazing if we could have her insured before the I-944 is sent off so we can state that in the I-944 and strengthen our case.

It’s called USPS informed delivery, google that and you should find a link to enroll in the program. You will receive daily emails with pictures of your mail whenever a post office scans mail that is en route to your address. It’s free.

Oh, I have another update for everyone as well. We called Transunion for the 4th time yesterday (they kept misspelling my wife’s name on the letters) trying to receive a letter that states that my wife does not have a credit score, they agreed to change my wife’s name again and send us the updated letter for the 3rd time yesterday and said it should arrive in 5-7 days. I will keep you updated on if they misspelled my wife’s extremely common name for the 4th time or not... at this point it’s just humorous. I have to laugh!

If they misspell it again... I will take Carolina G’s advice and fax them a request.
