Apparently not. The post office certainly did not, even though I signed up for it. They just said that "it was more than likely delivered without a scan". I will wait until Friday and then call USCIS. If they don't have anything by then, I might just sent a new one in early next week and cancel the checks depending on which one they cash first. I'm just afraid that my package is just sitting at the post office and they're giving me this whole spiel so they wont be liable.

I'll wait! On Friday, it'll have been 30 days.

Yep, i'm waiting until Friday and then i'll call USCIS. If they don't have anything by then, i'm going to consider sending it in again an cancelling the checks for whichever one they don't cash.

If I were you, I would wait until Friday, and then call USCIS or chat with a Live Agent through Emma. In my case, on the 28th day after filing, they hadn't had my I-485 check cashed, and that's when I asked to chat with a Live Agent through Emma, who then gave me the receipt number for the I-485 application, even though my check hadn 't been cashed yet. Then, 3 days after that I could notice the money was withdrawn from my bank account.

Good idea. That's exactly what I plan to do. If they don't have any reciept notice by then, I'll probably end up sending a new one in.

Your delivery date was 8/28, I would wait 2 weeks if I were you. It hasn't been a month yet. I received the text messages a month after.

I don't wanna wait two weeks due to the October 2nd deadline when they increase the fees. Again, I will wait until Friday and if it hasnt be charged by then I will call USCIS and if they have no info, I will consider sending in a new one and stopping the payment for the first one. Again, I don't even know if it actually got delivered which is why this situation is so frustrating and there is no way for me to confirm that it was delivered.  I totally see your point though, if it wasn't for Oct 2nd creeping up I wouldn't be as concerned.

Oh no, if they do not provide you with a receipt number, your package might still be in the USCIS Lockbox. Live Agents and USCIS representatives over the phone, have access to the cases that have been processed by the Lockbox already.

When the Lockbox receive a package, they scan every single document you have enclosed, and if everything is OK, they cash the check(s) and transfer the case to a USCIS Service Center or Local Office.

So, if they do not provide you with a receipt number by Friday, your package might still be processing by the USCIS Lockbox. They are experiencing delays these days. DO NOT DO THAT :)

USPS is having major problems now, I would  not send anything else of importance through them.

Gonna take awhile to restore the lost confidence I  suspect. In the mean time there is UPS or FedEx. A bit more in cost, but much much more reliable under the circumstances.

The way i'm looking at it is, if they don't have ANYTHING by Friday I would send a new package in and if they end up charging the first one to just cancel the checks for the first one.

I totally see your point but i'm a bit lost because there is no way for me to confirm on either side whether or not my package was delivered. It could be stuck at the post office for all I know 😣

Another thing you can do, is to e-mail the lockbox with your info, full name, DOB, mailing address and date of filing, describing your situation and asking if they have received your package. lockboxsupport@uscis.dhs.gov

I would just call USPS and accuse them of losing your package and tell them that the receiver has not received package and let them go to their investigation now so you can figure out if you need to recreate your package. Also how does USPS not know if the package was not received by someone? . You can definitely escalate things if you wanted to. Also I know some cases where They did 2 day shipping but wasn’t received until 6-7 days later which may impact your 30 day timeline. It’s hard to say but uSPS needs to give you information

I opened a missing mail case last week but I haven't heard anything from that yet. I also did in fact speak with USPS and they opened a service request with the post office and they just said that they could not find it in the delivery room. So it was either delivered, or they lost it. They basically said that if it was delivered, they just did not scan it so in other words, there is no way for them to confirm whether or not it was delivered. I don't really know what else I can do but to wait.

I just spoke with USCIS and they told me to give it one more week, which I think sounds reasonable.

Great you been on top of it. I am sure they have it. But glad you planned for worse case scenarios. Good luck!

I hope so. Hopefully I'll see a charge by the end of the week but at least i'll have another packet good to go if I need to send it in quickly before Oct 2nd.

Thank you!! I'm sure that it will work out in the end. It's just the part of not knowing that is a bit stressful.

I used UPS as I heard USPS is awful right now. I will continue to support USPS as I don't want them to die but not with important things.

However, this is unrelated but potentially still useful. I purchased most of my supplies for my hedgehog I am picking up next week. These are essential items. The seller used USPS to send it all. I waited all week before I checked the tracking as I was surprised that it wasn't here yet. It still just said that the label was created after a week. I contacted the seller and they went in and got it scanned in correctly and it updated now and said it is arriving today. So maybe something like that happened to you with USPS. It is there but they never scanned it in the end. Of course this is not the thing you want that to happen too. Just a recent USPS experience that I had last week.

I actually think that is exactly what happened. The post office told me that it is possible that they just never scanned it and just delivered it anyway, even though I picked signature confirmation. I'll give it until the end of the week and if I haven't seen anything by then i'll call USCIS and see if I should send in a new one or not 😣
