Congrats. Yeah do file the address change request since USPS address forward doesn't work for USCIS letters.

Nice Friday night surprise, the I-130 / I-485 charges both posted to our credit card at 2:30am!  The package was signed for on August 19th, so 17 calendar days from signing to cards being charged which is consistent with post COVID processing timelines. Doesn't look like the furlough / budget cuts are having a measurable impact (yet!) Like others, we did not include an I-944.

Hope everyone else gets good news quickly!

Congrats!!! USCIS also tried to charge both our I-130 and the I-485. Unfortunately the big I-485 charge was declined as fraud and I could not do anything since the charge was posted at 2:30 am and I was sleeping!!!! Hope they try again... Good luck everyone!

Always best to alert your CC company in advance of the large charge, at least they will be aware of it.

Just call them, you paid close to 2k. Anytime is advisable with that type of payment!

I just saw this morning that they have cashed it. Gonna wait for another week for their sms.

Oof! I think I remember reading somewhere that USCIS attempts the charge 2x before rejecting the application. I would contact your credit card issuer and let them know that you're expecting the charge just in case they do it late at night again.

Can't seem to edit my previous post.

The part I remembered reading about double charges was this:

"If, subsequent to receipting, a check or other financial instrument submitted for payment is returned as not payable, USCIS re-submits the payment to the remitter institution one time" https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-1-part-b-chapter-6

Unfortunately the credit card instructions say:

"USCIS will reject your application, petition, or request for lack of payment if your credit card is declined. USCIS will not attempt to process your credit card payment a second time." from the instructions https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/g-1450instr.pdf

Since the I-130 went through I would probably try contacting USCIS and seeing if you can get them to note your file / intervene before the rejection.

Such a bummer!! But why would they charge my credit card at 2:30 am on a Saturday morning?? 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️. I called them but their customer service hours are Monday through Friday. I'll call them on Monday... Thanks for the info!

I'm guessing the actual charge is an automated process after the card details are recorded, probably not an employee doing some late night processing.. Certainly inconvenient, though!

Monday is a federal holiday so I'd be surprised if they're open but you may as well give them a try!
