I just saw on USPS Informed Delivery that I have 3 pieces of mail coming from USCIS today. I assume it's the NOA1 of I-485, I-765 and I-131.

That would be a safe assumption!

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!

Just a bit of advise: don’t drive yourself crazy folks. Maybe lay off this thread for a bit. Stop checking it multiple times a day- it does your stress hormones no good. Try not to compare your timeline to others so much. If someone who filed after you gets bumped up in the process sooner than you, it’s okay. Be happy for them. That just means uscis is moving along at their normal snail pace and you will soon be next.

You are with your partner. We are all so lucky for that. You turned in your paperwork, congrats! That is HUGE!!! Now focus your energy on your new lives together instead of obsessing over something that is now out of your control.

Can you imagine being a k1 filer during this time and not knowing when you’ll actually see your partner next because of the pandemic? THAT WOULD SUCK. Now after you read this, get off your phone and hug your partner. Tell them you appreciate them. Take a deep breath. Relax. It’s only been a month at the most for all of us in this thread. We all have a long road ahead of us. Everything will fall into place when it’s supposed to. I promise.

Totally right though. At least we are together with our spouses right now. I have a small vacation weekend getaway coming up in a couple of weeks so that should help some of my anxiety

I try to remind myself of that. I was that K1! Mine was only approved in June and I had half the forum messaging me. I managed to get an emergency interview and managed to get a flight out after approval. So I did have those feelings and now I am here so I know for sure that I am just lucky to be here and I do try to remind myself of that as well!

I sent my package last week but it didn't get there till Monday(USPS can be crazy atimes). Someone named E. BROWN signed for it. I just remembered I didn't put a an evaluation of my foreign degree in my I-944. Hopefully my US masters degree and current Ph.D program will suffice. I just hope everything goes well. I don't wanna pay the new fees.

Did you receive the NOA text messages? If so when?  Generally it’s a few days after you receive those text messages (assuming you signed up for them). If you have received it and still have not received it I would just call them so if it got lost in transit or misplaced you can have it resent.

Thank you! Yes, I received the SMS messages last week (which was weird in itself, because we put my husband's number on the G-1145, not mine!). Anyway, I think you're right, it's probably worth following up to check nothing has got lost.

Same boat as everyone here, USCIS received them Aug 18 and now I’m nervously waiting around as have not even heard a squeak from them.

is the rule 30 business days or just 30 days from when they received your file?

Doesn't specify business days here https://www.uscis.gov/tools/how-do-i-guides/while-my-case-is-pending so I would assume calendar

Notify USCIS if you are concerned you haven't received something important from us, such as:

  • You mailed your application or petition more than 30 days ago to a Service Center or to our National Benefits Center, and have not yet received a receipt in the mail [/quote]

But remember USCIS is likely working through a COVID backlog right now, dealing with whatever the fallout from the furlough is/was, and probably getting a crush of new applications before the fee hike, so longer-than-usual processing is probably going to be the norm for most of us! Were you an I-130/485 concurrent?

Sounds like calendar days!!! I did not change my last name to my husbands name during my AOS.  Now I’m regretting it. Apparently I can do this at the interview?

Looks like it's an option at the naturalization interview. What forms did you file?

My I-130/AOS application. I imagine I can do it during my interview for when they issue my green card!

I have heard of people doing it this way. I just started using my married name straight away and I wrote it on the forms like that.
