Hi guys.

We’re having our AOS interview in 3 days, on Monday 03/22/2021 at Hialeah, FL Field Office.
Marriage-Based.
Same-sex marriage.

PD: 08/03/2020.

We filed I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131, and had biometrics on 02/10/2021.

I would love to hear some advices from you guys and please clarify us which documents should we bring to the interview in addition to original marriage certificate, birth certificates, I-94, passports, driving licenses, pictures of us, joint banks statements, insurance documents, and new supporting documents from our joint sponsor like W2s of 2020 and last 3 months paystubs. Do we need to re print all the forms? I never received EAD or combo card

Approved on the Spot!

Hialeah, FL Field Office.

Filed I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131 on 08/03/2020.

Biometrics done on 02/10/2021

The IO was kind of serious at the beginning, but then the conversation started to flow more naturally.  She first started with questions from the forms I-130 (for my spouse) and I-485 (for me).  Then she began to ask how we met, how long did we date before we got married, where and when was the first date, when and where was the second date and how often did we used to meet while dating, what was my job in my home country and what was my husband's job when we met.

We brought a bunch of documents, but she only asked for Bona-Fide marriage documents, so we gave her our joint bank account statements for the last 6 months, a T-Mobile joint account, correspondence we had to the same residency address, car insurance, life insurance, both driving licenses with the same address and a bunch of photos (like 25 and she kept with all of them).  She asked the story behind almost all of the pictures and asked us both to confirm who was in them.  She asked about our joint sponsor and our relationship with her (my mother-in-law's best friend).  We also brought 2020 W2’s and last 2 months paystubs from our joint sponsor.  The IO never asked for that though.  She didn’t even ask for originals of birth certificates and marriage certificate.

When she finished the questions, she told us to wait for her while she printed a couple papers to sign. When she came back, she told us: I think I have everything I need, you will receive your card in the mail within 30 days, and then proceed to explain the removal of conditions process.

When we got home, our case status for I-485 updated to: New Card Is Being Produced!

So that was our experience :)

Only the I130 form was sent. I just want to know if we should wait to get a reply from them in the mail or should we go ahead and send it the other applications.

if the I-130 was filed for an immediate relative and that immediate relative is IN the US, the beneficiary should have filed for adjustment of status (I-485) at the same time!! It’s a waste of time if the beneficiary did not. You guys should go ahead and file I-485 and supporting documents ASAP

Immediate relatives do not have to wait until Form I-130 is approved to file Form I-485. You may file your Form I-485 together with your Form I-130, while Form I-130 is pending, or after your Form I-130 is approved.

I shared some general info with you last month:

My hubby got EAD last Friday (though unfortunately it wasn't the combo card, I guess his advance parole wasn't approved?), he called social security local office and they confirmed a SSN had been generated and was in the way. Maybe try calling your local ss office
