My husband is potentially losing his job soon, long story. I know he will find another one quickly I’m not concerned about that but I was wondering if it could be a reason for expedite for my work permit at least?

Sorry for the double post. I just talked to an agent and they said that mine and my daughters EAD/AP are processed separately and she is in the normal time. That's fine.

I then asked if our AOS is processed together so I interview together with my three year old and they replied that there's no guarantee we will be interviewed together. I don't want to drive interstate for my THREE YEAR OLDs interview. I hope it happens at the same time. Seems silly.

I agree it's  not only silly but inefficient.  If you expect the worst you'll  be ready.

4 years, 11 months, 2 weeks and 3 days

Citizenship Complete!

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!

That's true. I just imagine an interview solely for a three year old to be rather pointless.
Was hoping for her EAD before April though so we had her SSN for taxes. Oh well!

Yes, definitely follow up with her. She told me she can check up on the status of my application with USCIS every 30 days, and that’s what we did.

I will also email her this week after the biometrics to ask her to send a request for expedited EAD

Finally got my biometrics!! Contacted Christy again and she sent in another inquiry yesterday. Got the call today that they scheduled it for March 8th. A Tier 2 officer called today and gave us the news.

Oh it is nice to have someone in a similar position. I am actually 22 weeks this Thursday so not that far away. I had my anatomy scan at 21 weeks on the dot. Have to have the second one in a few weeks though but it's another chance to see her so that's good.

I received my EAD/AP combo card on Saturday. I feel very official now. I am not looking for work as such now because I am pregnant. However, I can still get my license now which I am definitely doing before I have this baby. I just need to practice driving on the opposite side of the road so more but I am nervous to drive with the snow!

My daughter came with me as I applied for her K2 at the same time as my K1. I am glad I did. However, no news about her EAD/AP yet. Both of our AOS are still RFIE received.

Oh we are about the same weeks. When is your due date? Mine is June 3. I also have a second anatomy scan this week (24 weeks) and exited to see the baby again.

Congratulations on your EAD/AP Combo card.

I had my biometrics on February 1 and submitted a request to expedite the EAD. I graduated law school in January. While I was in school, I was doing some legal research projects for a law firm. My student visa related employment authorization expired though and I can’t work anymore. Hoping to get my EAD soon so I can do some more research projects - I am

doing that from home so it’s a great way to make some extra money and get experience while waiting to be admitted to the bar.

it’s so nice that your daughter came with you. I came here on F-1 visa and was so busy with law school that couldn’t take care of my son and he stayed in my home country with his father. He visited on B-2 tourist visa for the wedding but now his B-2 expired. We submitted I-130 petition for him the other day but it’s going to take at least a year until he is able to join us here.

Hi, if you dont mind me asking, what exactly did you write in the e-mail or say in a phone call when you contacted your senator? I've been thinking about doing it because I'm still waiting for bios and I am honestly willing to try anything 🤷‍♀️

Hi. I just explained my situation. I wrote that I am in law school and working as a law clerk with a law firm but my work authorization is about to expire when I graduate. I mentioned how long I have been waiting for biometrics. Also, explained that we are currently living only on my husband’s income and I am pregnant which has increased our expenses.

Congratulations! Christy has been amazing. I had my biometrics last week on February 1 and was waiting for my employer to send me a current job offer. Christy emailed me this morning to follow up with me and check whether I have done my biometrics. Send her an updated job offer letter and medical bills so hopefully that is sufficient for USCIS to approve an expedited request for EAD

That's great! We will be doing the same right after biometrics are done.

Got it, thank you. I might give it a try. I don't really have anything to lose by trying.
