My wifes interview was today at 9:45 am at the Newark USCIS office. We saw officer Thompson. They just asked why we chose to get married in the states vs DR, has she used any other names, random questions from the form, any previous marriages or visa denials, and if she belonged to any military group or any underground group etc etc. At the end he said ok we concluded your interview, we will review your case further and give you an update through the mail within 3 weeks. At the end, I told him, hey we have more evidence and copies in a new packet we took, he told us he didnt need any of it. So I pretty much spent time doing all that for nothing lol. At any rate, by the time we got home and checked her status online, it stated new card ordered and being produced! So pretty much we got approved on the spot but not really, if that makes any sense lol. Good luck guys. Hopefully whoever is left from the August group that has their cases still pending gets positive news and outcomes very soon!

Hi,

I was wondering if somebody is from Florida. I applied last year in august, I did my biometrics in December 2020 and received my EAD in March 2021. But I haven’t heard anything else from my case.

should I worry ? Should I talk to Emma ?

I also filed in August, had my biometrics in January (which turned out to be for EAD case only and were not applied to my green card case). Had another biometrics scheduled for July 29th with the notice explicitly saying it's for Adjustment of Status. Unfortunately no other updates since. I tried talking to an officer through Emma, but was told that it's still being processed and not to contact them anymore unless my case is out of the estimated processing time, which is ridiculous considering that it's gone up to 26 months now.

Is your case stuck at fingerprints were taken?

Mine has been for almost a year now and my Pd is may 2020..

Yes, it's stuck at fingerprints were taken. Today I found out that they applied the "fingerprints were taken" update to both EAD and Green Card case on July 30th, even though I received my EAD in February. I have no idea what's going on, but it seems like a mix-up. Tried talking to an officer through Emma again to clear it up, but the chat was not processing any of my messages unless agent asked for specifics/details regarding confirmation of identity so I couldn't really get any information, it's ridiculous.

I regret not filing for I-131 / AP at the same time and now I'm also forced to extend my EAD since I most likely won't be getting the Green Card before it expires.

It’s probably a glitch, try to reapply as soon as possible because it takes up to 10 months nowadays to get the EAD.

i wonder why they can’t just print a new one and basta when you’ve already been cleared to work. Another one of those things that makes no sense to me.

Quick update on my case:

- My interview was scheduled on August and then canceled 2 weeks later

- In October I got an RFE asking proof that my marriage was legit. Because life is busy (especially with a baby in the house), I was only able to work on it during the Holidays.

- I sent the package on Dec 30 by UPS.

- Package received at USCIS on Jan 3

- On Jan 5 I got an update that they had received my response

- On Jan 8 I got an update saying that my card was being produced

So in the end my interview was waived. My wife and I were relived because it would be hard to go there with a little one, especially during this COVID surge. Now I just need to wait for the card :)
