Our NVC expedite was approved last Monday, Aug 17 and the status is still showing "At NVC". I spoke to a NVC customer service representative yesterday who said there is no confirmed time frame of sending the case once its approved 😕 I'm getting anxious at this point because many people had their cases sent next day or so. Will you guys have any suggestions or is anyone in the same situation?

I have that exact same problem that i just found out.  We are IR1 going to Bangkok Embassy for interview.  The Bangkok embassy is open and doing limited interviews as has everyone has been talking about lately.  We have been waiting 8 weeks now just for an interview date.  Well its not going to happen.  NVC is closed.  The embassy in Bangkok may be open, but the NVC has suspended interviews for regular immigration services.(not scheduling interviews with the embassies). Sooo...we are stuck floating between agencies. Sounds like you may be as well. 😑

What do you mean by the NVC is closed? I did a google search and couldn't find anything - maybe you have some insider knowledge we need to know?

Hey do you mean you are waiting since DQ for 8 weeks? Or did you also have expedite approved and the embassy received your case but now you're waiting for interview since then?

And I'm little confused with what you meant by NVC is closed. Because they have continued approving documents and giving DQs to cases. Also the suspension part should not include IR1/CR1 visa services but each embassy is working differently based on the country's situation so I could be wrong. Our embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh is still showing the message that all routine visa services are suspended in its website but still rescheduling the canceled interviews of IR1/CR1 visas in a limited number. Did you try calling your embassy? That might help getting more info..

NVC does not schedule the interview appointments, the embassy does. So you will need to wait for the embassy to tell NVC when they have available dates.

Also, NVC is not closed.

Your best best would be to contact your embassy. You might get lucky and they will give you a timeframe...

Message from the Bangkok Embassy below.

Also,  I am still waiting response from NVC to confirm.

The Bangkok Embassy is open for interviews as stated on their website.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Per our records, we currently do not have your case at our office.  You can use your case number to track your case status online at https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

We have tracked your case using your provided case number; and the system shows, as of today, the case is still “AT NVC”.

Currently, all routine immigrant visa services are suspended until further notice.  Once we are able to resume operation, you will receive a new interview date by email from the NVC.

Thank you for your patience during this time.

Regards,

Immigrant Visa Unit

Everyone in the forum has a timeline. Click on your name on the top right corner of the page and it will come up.

The timeline tells others what country you are filing from, which visa you are filing for the dates for each step of your visa process and it populates the Visa Journey database to help everyone with rough estimates as to when expect answers from the immigration process.

From the dates you provided, you are actually one of the lucky ones who hasn´t been waiting too long at each step of the way.

Most embassies are closed and only processing mission critical visas.

Fill out your timeline, have a seat here with everyone here and let´s make the best of this crazy situation!

Yes I know that, thank you! For expedited cases though, I think NVC sends the case before embassy schedules the interview. I am mainly worried about the time NVC taking to send my case to the embassy. I have seen in this forum that once expedite is approved, the cases were sent and had "ready" status pretty quickly like at least within a week. But my case is still at NVC for some reason and it has been more than a week by now. Contacting my embassy didn't help as they don't have my case yet. I guess I don't have any other option but to be patient!

For the lucky ones who are getting the interview: is the petitioner allowed into the interview?

Many people have approved expedites but the embassy is not fully up to accept them so they are in the expedite line. Some embassy have been doing expedites since March never really closed. So you can;t compare embassies. What phase is your embassy on?
