thanks for the reply!

it’s for my husband who already does have a tourist visa and has come and gone correctly multiple times with it.

With the embassies closed and with brazil only getting worse, i have no clue when interviews will start again so we started discussing if visiting would be a possibility.

I emailed CBP to confirm that I as a UK citizen married to a USC, could enter the USA on an ESTA, and that i could in fact renew my ESTA. I checked due to the current proclamations about UK not being able to enter the USA unless exempt

they confirmed yes I could do both enter as the spouse (take marriage certificate) and also renew my esta

i have entered previously since we got married and took

a letter from my employer stating my return to work date

a letter from our sons school confirming return gonschool date

return itienrary

copy of NOA1/2

marfiage certificate

Does anyone know what reasons can qualify to expedite case? Where I I live it says the embassy is open for emergency appointments only. What does that mean?

You need to fill out your timeline to get the most accurate responses.

Mexico is reporting one of the highest cases of COVID I doubt embassy opening anytime soon Also before COVID the waiting was 9  to 12 months for an interview like poor Montreal.

Interesting that your spreadsheet is showing 9-12 months vs. the timeline on VJ, which shows about 3-6 months from NOA2 to interview for most people:  https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=Texas Service Center&op66=Not Transfered&op7=Mexico&dfile=No&adv=

What is "case complete" in your spreadsheet, DQ at NVC?

Hey there vtstang66!!

I think the difference in the waiting period is because that VJ timeline only shows cases processed by the Texas Service Center that already got an interview. Also all the interviews after March 19th were emergency appointments or “expedites'', so those time frames are  “special”.

This timeline shows the cases that are still waiting for an interview: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=i&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op66=Not Transfered&op7=Mexico&dfile=No&adv=0

Sorry to bring bad news but with the pandemic we are way beyond the 9-12 months waiting period that @dwheeels76 mentioned for Mexico. For instance, we are waiting for our interview since May 2019.

And you are correct, case complete means DQ at NVC ;)

I have a stupid question. I was married a few times and submitted everything in the first application for my husband. But NVC never asked me about my previous original documents for marriage. Now I am confused. Do I need originals about all marriages or only termination of last one and current marriage certificate?

The USC does not have to submit anything other than the I-864 and associated tax returns during the NVC stage.

The applicant (beneficiary) will fill out DS-260 and submit documents, such as marriage certificate, divorce certificate from previous marriages, police clearance certificate, bio page of their passport, birth certificate, and  maybe a few more items depending on what country.

The beneficiary needs originals of his/her document to present to the CO at interview, but only needs copies of the USC petitioner documents, if asked.

Great news for Guyana!  Airports are officially opening as of September 1, 2020.  Hopefully the Embassy staff can plan a safe return to work and they can move on to Phase 2 and start processing spousal visas!

I am crossing my fingers for them to start processing! There’s been so many changes in dates that I don’t have any expectations anymore. Good luck.

When we submitted I-130, our lawyer did attach my husband's divorce papers. Then when I had my interview, I had to bring the original of his divorce certs to the interview.

According to the pre-interview checklist on USCIS:

"If you and/or your petitioner were previously married: The original divorce certificate(s) or spouse's death certificate(s) for all previous marriages from you and your petitioner, English translation, and a photocopy of each document."

I've been tracking the NVC current case review times for the past 2 months.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

Look at the past week. In 5 business days, they've managed to review 2 days worth of cases. 2 DAYS!!!! Did they all get drunk last week? The average time they have been able to complete in 5 business days is 11.8 days worth of backlogged cases. They're getting lazy.

Current case review time: As of 22-JUN-2020, we are reviewing documents submitted to us on 06-MAR-2020
Current case review time: As of 29-JUN-2020, we are reviewing documents submitted to us on 28-MAR-2020
Current case review time: As of 06-JUL-2020, we are reviewing documents submitted to us on 04-APR-2020

I'm updating this because it is a new week. In the past 5 business days, NVC has managed to complete 2 days worth of cases! 2! They are on vacation or something. The average has been eleven days worth of backlogged cases per week.

That review time should be taken with a grain of salt though -- it's not strictly accurate. There are cases that are much more recent that get pulled for review, but that date is probably the oldest ones that are in the queue for whatever reason. I had submitted to NVC in May and at that time they said they were reviewing cases from February -- that date barely moved in weeks and when we were DQd in June, the date was still "officially" sometime in February.
