I saw that the other day so excited for you. Are you ready for school? Keep us posted.

Thanks!!!  Our state is doing online schooling til the end of January so I just have to get her a new laptop.  My understanding is the county has deals on them so I'm gonna check it out and see.  I have a feeling their "deal" won't really be a "deal"  lol!! I will keep you all posted.

For those who have gone for their interview, is it frowned upon if the beneficiary does not choose to interview in English? The couple primarily communicates in another language. The beneficiary reads and writes academic English but is shy at speaking and worried about misunderstanding the Consular Officer due to nerves.

I dont think it matters if an interview in native language is chosen.

I don’t think it matters at all. Better speak in the language you’re comfortable in and be able to fully understand the questions you’re asked.

How long do the interviews usually take? We were granted an emergency appt for medical reasons. My husband has been in so far two hours. May God reunite all families soon.

It varies widely. The waiting takes more time than the interview. Especially now with social distancing and all the precautions. Keep us posted!

It depends. I was at the embassy 1 hour and the interview took around 25 minutes, it was pretty long. But it varies so much. Someone’s interview might be 5 minutes, someone else’s 40 minutes. Google interview questions for spousal visa and make sure you know how to answer, also know everything in your DS-260. I am sure everything will be fine and you’ll get the visa :)

I've been tracking the NVC current case review times for the past 2 months.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

Look at the past week. In 5 business days, they've managed to review 2 days worth of cases. 2 DAYS!!!! Did they all get drunk last week? The average time they have been able to complete in 5 business days is 11.8 days worth of backlogged cases. They're getting lazy.

Current case review time: As of 22-JUN-2020, we are reviewing documents submitted to us on 06-MAR-2020
Current case review time: As of 29-JUN-2020, we are reviewing documents submitted to us on 28-MAR-2020

This timeframe isn´t 100% accurate. When I got my DQ, it was way after what they claim to be reviewing. I personally would go by the VJ timeframe instead of this....

My husband attended his interview at the London Embassy today and our visa is officially approved! It feels very surreal, apparently he was in and out of the embassy within 30 minutes and the interview portion only lasted about 5 minutes! I haven't gotten all of the details as he was desperate to get out of the city but he did tell me the questions they asked him:

When did you meet? How did you meet? How often have you visited each other? Why did you decide to get married? Have you considered what you'll do for work in the US? Are you looking forward to living in Delaware? At first the officer asked him about me living in Connecticut but I have never even visited that state, much less lived there. Not sure if the officer was confused about Delaware being its own state (which wouldn't surprise me, most people only know about Delaware from Wayne's World) or if this was to test my husband's knowledge of where I live.

Wow, that's weird about the Connecticut question! I would hope they aren't trying to be "tricky" to see if your husband really knows where he is going. I assume that the people conducting the interviews are American Citizens, so they SHOULD know that Delaware is a state -- it's the FIRST state, for goodness sake!

Regardless, that's so awesome that he had a very quick interview and that you are done with the process!! Congratulations. :)

I just paid the IV fee online after getting my passport back. I didn't get a slip with details about how to pay the IV fee. I just went to https://my.uscis.gov/uscis-immigrant-fee, entered my A-Number (Registration Number on the visa) and DOS Case ID (IV Case Number on the visa) and followed the instructions on the site from there.

My flight is booked for September 25th to El Paso via Dallas FW, leaving from London Heathrow. If anyone else happens to be leaving from Heathrow that day drop me a message and we can rant about how stressful this process is while we wait for our flights 😂

I can barely believe I'm typing this, but after nearly two years since our NOA1, I can actually say WE'RE DONE with the IR1 process!

I honestly would've made a 100 more mistakes than I already did without the lovely, helpful and supportive members on this site 💙

Now I can relax for a few years before having to worry about naturalisation 😪🤣

That's so great, CONGRATULATIONS!! Hopefully you have smooth flights to your new home in El Paso. I bet it feels so surreal to not have to stress about this process anymore.
