Just got back from my interview. I got APPROVED!!

It was really quick, was in and out within 30 minutes and nobody else was there. CO was really friendly. He asked quite a few questions but it was more like general chit chat. He congratulated me on our anniversary today and told me to expect my passport back within 2 weeks.

I called my husband once I got out (at 05:30 his time 😂) and woke him up with the good news! I still can’t believe it’s finally happening and that I’ll be with my husband soon!

Congratulations!

Wait, does this mean I cannot buy private medical insurance plan for myself before obtaining the visa? I was planning to have it before my interview and take it with me to let the CO see it...

My husband was able to add me to his insurance plan back in March by proving I was going to lose health insurance in my country, maybe it can work for you too.

What were your reasons?

What specifically did they write to you?

just the emotional toll thing and nvc case delay. they said it wouldn't be fair to other applicants and denied.

Ya they are only handling cancelled interviews right now, hopefully they will open up fully soon. No harm in trying, which is why I did it as well, but highly unlikely they will approve unless you've some valid medical emergency with proofs. KTM embassy is tough to get a expedite through.

Did they ask for ds5540 or 2019 returns?

It won’t hurt your process in any way though, right???

No just asked for birth, marriage and police certificates, and ofc my passport

I’d still take copies of everything submitted to NVC though in case it doesn’t show up on their system
