Valid L2 stamping with an expired PED date

Hi,

 

The situation is,

The Dad recently received the approved L1 notice (I-797).  18yr old son has his stamped L2 visa, valid until 2020, but has a foot note of PED expiration of April 2020.  Can the son enter the US with the existing L2 stamping and a print out of the Dad's latest approved L1, (I-797) or should the son get the stamping done at an US embassy again?
