While the majority of the Dem base is mainstream, but the party itself and its positions are more and more controlled by radicals like "The Squad"

I think that's a narrative that's put out there, but it really doesn't play out in the legislation that is coming before the House. The Democratic senators are hardly a bunch of radicals, with an exception for Warren and maybe Sherrod Brown if you're feeling like you want to widen the circle.

Biden? DEFINITELY not a radical.

I respectively disagree. When you see the way the House handled Bill Barr's hearing and the total denial of the riots its pretty clear where the source of this comes from

When you have every presidential candidate (Biden Included) raise their hands to support free health care for illegal immigrants I would say that is on the more radical side

Yeah, we're going to disagree. I have a very different take on that, particularly the Barr hearing. I thought Barr was an embarrassment, someone who is holding water for the President when he works for the American people, not one client. You will disagree with me.

I also do not see anyone denying that there were elements of the demonstrations that got out of control. I also see -- and agree with -- the opinion that the presence of federal law enforcement ratcheted up violence instead of quieting it. You will disagree with me.

It is fine to disagree. There is little point in arguing this with each other; I suspect we will be no more successful than if we were arguing with brick walls. :) Again, that's fine.

You point to one aspect of Biden's aims as being radical, but I do not believe Biden actually said that. My own recollection is that Biden had said that undocumented people should be able to buy into the ACA marketplace. This is what the Biden-Sanders plan says:

Quote

To ensure that people living and working across the country have health care access, the Task Force recommends extending Affordable Care Act coverage to DACA recipients, allowing undocumented immigrants to purchase unsubsidized coverage in the ACA marketplaces, and working with Congress to lift the five-year waiting period for low-income lawfully present immigrants for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program eligibility.

https://joebiden.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/UNITY-TASK-FORCE-RECOMMENDATIONS.pdf (It's on page 91.)

There is a real difference between "allowing undocumented immigrants to purchase unsubsidized coverage" and "free health care for illegal immigrants." The plan says okay, you can buy coverage through the marketplace (instead of individually) but you aren't eligible for subsidies you would be eligible for if you were here legally. What benefit is it to our society when we have people who -- like it or not -- are here who avoid medical care because they cannot afford insurance? Or who get medical care only through the ER, and if they can't pay it, it's written off causing increases in pricing to others? We have an interest as a society in keeping people healthy, even people who we don't like or don't want to be here. If we have learned anything over the past six months, it's that infectious disease and poor health don't care if you're insured or not. Protecting everyone protects us all, collectively and individually.

And you will probably disagree with me on that, and that's fine too. :)

As explained by Rush and others, the Dem party seems to have concluded that "Twitter IS America."

The party has gone so far out of control that compromise is impossible -- they must be utterly crushed if our country is to retain a semblance of what it was meant to be.

I had a big ole reply typed up, about to hit submit, when I read this statement again and realized that the meaning of my words would likely fall on blind eyes, so I deleted them.

Instead, let me say that them words up there in the box are like saying there was a loud noise in Beruit yesterday.

Wow, I guess we saw two different hearings, but whatever.  That is just another sign of the TDS that is rampant especially among the Washington elite Leftist/Democrats.  As to the Dems, well that is the party of identity politics which in some ways is coming back to bite them in the rear,

Getting back on topic, it seems clear that Biden’s Veep choice really won’t matter.  This is actually bad news for Old Joe as he really does not have much excitement behind him, and people are starting to realize that his handlers are trying to get folks to get behind a ghost candidate.

Agreed. Back in 2016 there were Hillary signs, posters, stickers everywhere (granted that was here in NYC). I have yet to see anything Biden 2020

Clearly anecdotal, but in the neighborhood where we walk the dog, it is a six to one ratio of Trump to Biden’s signs.

I have seen 1 yes 1 Biden sign and 1 bumper sticker. Which all those have been up around Raleigh as well. I actually have been seeing more Bernie stickers than I have Biden ones.
