Wow! This one is a challenging one because my fiance doesn't have a SSN so I can't easily add her to my accounts so that her name appears with our address.  Do you think having an affidavit from me as well as my wife would be enough evidence?  Or does the affidavit have to come from a 3rd party?  You guys are amazing!! Thanks for your help!

Hi so just for clarification your now wife came in on a k1 and you are now adjusting status? (you mentioned both fiancé and wife) 

If I am understanding correctly you want to write an affidavit stating why you can't add your wife to your lease/household bills? Either of you can submit a letter stating why she is not on the lease; this should not come from someone else. This isn't necessary but if it gives you peace of mind you can.

You can submit other documentation; I will assume she does not have a state ID yet. Some bills she may be able to be added without a SS; have you checked cable, water, electricity, etc? Do you have mail addressed to you both; you can submit copies of that.

Marriage: 1/26/15

Approved: 8/31/15                                     Received: 9/8/15

 

EAD

CIS Office : Hartford                                  Filed : 3/18/15

NOA : 3/25/15                                            Approved: 6/12/15

Received: 6/20/15

 

Removal of Conditions I-751

Filed: 8/14/17 at VSC                                 NOA: 8/15/17 Received 8/21 by mail

Biometrics: Dated: 8/25/17   Received 9/2/17   Appointment 9/11/17 

Approved: 10/23/18 -no interview

You don't need to provide proof of residency.
