I filed last August 2019. My original interview date was supposed to actually be Sept 25th - but I had to return to the UK a couple of weeks before that interview due to a family funeral. I didn't realize when I got to the U.S. a few days ahead of the interview that you had to be in the U.S. at least 14 days before attending the interview. So they rescheduled me for Oct 19th.

Side note - when I was in the ceremony room, the lady there told me that family and friends are permitted to attend the ceremony and if I had anyone waiting for me in the car, I could go get them. I didn't have anyone waiting outside, but if I had known I definitely would have brought my family along!

I don't know why you can't see it either. My account got locked, so now I also cannot see it either, and I'm waiting for USCIS to finally call me. That's what it said at the time I filled. We'll see if it really is done by May.

Los Angeles County field office here, estimated completion time has been February 2021 since I filed in May 2020, always knew this was not accurate whatsoever and didn't expect to receive an interview before July 2021 AT LEAST.

Yesterday after receiving my "biometrics appointment has been scheduled" status the case completion date changed to September 2021, which sounds a lot more accurate. Seems like my case is back on track.

I applied in September and since the receipt notice, nothing. My completion date was March 2021, it then changed to June, and then to July.  I see you applied in May and are now just getting a biometrics letter, so I don't have much hope of getting mine soon. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Yeah, both L.A. field offices are so slow at handing out interview appointments that they have no use for people's biometrics early on. You won't get an interview until ~14-18 months after filing anyway, so if they collected your fingerprints early on they would just sit there and "collect dust" for a long time anyway. And many N-400 filers get their biometrics appointments waived anyway, I bet the ASC offices are focusing on the ones who never gave their fingerprints before, ie AOS applicants.

Saw two people who are Los Angeles filers (not sure if it's LA or LAC) on Facebook who filed in July 2020 who got their interview letters now in the end on January, for March appointments. And one who filed in February 2020.

Must be a massive mess at the field offices since they're scheduling people who filed mid 2020 while there are tons of people from early in 2020 (and even late 2019) who are still waiting, many who haven't even received a biometrics appintment.

Hello L.A. filers,

LA filer here as well, I applied on February 19th 2020, biometrics done on 03/10/2020. I received my interview notification on December 24th for an interview on February 3rd (DTLA office). I filed based on 5 years rule, GC obtained through employment.
In case you want to check others’ timelines for a specific location, you can go here:

https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/citlist.php?op6=All&op7=Los+Angeles+CA&op1=6&op2=&op4=1&op5=5%2C10%2C11&cfl=
This timeline tool really helped me evaluate when to expect an interview but it works better if everyone participates and updates their timeline.

Once I am done with the interview I will update my timeline in here and add a comment if I have any info that seem relevant for others.

Good luck and courage to everyone who is still waiting, I feel you. When I was seeing people from Nashville, TN or North Carolina getting their interview within less than 5 months.... it was so frustrating.

Again good luck and have a nice Sunday! 😊

Congrats to getting an interview!

The issue with visajourney's "statstics" is that it doesn't count the DTLA offices as two separate ones, only as one. Both field offices share the same address but most often have different processing times. Would be great if visajourney would list both and not just put both together as if they're one. Right now there's no way to know which user went through the Los Angeles field office, and who went through the Los Angeles County field office. Same applies when people say "DTLA", as it could be either of the two offices.

Well, after I nagged them for a biometrics appointment via the inbox on my online account, things started happening real fast.

I sent them a message mid-december asking for a biometrics appointment. 2-3 weeks later they scheduled me for biometrics. The actual appointment was on January 27, and already today, on February 1st, they scheduled my interview.

Hello LA Filers,

I just got the interview today in DTLA and it all went well. The LA office is no longer holding same day Oath Ceremony, it seems that they hold them on Wednesdays and Fridays. I got approved right away and received my ceremony date and time on a paper (N-445) along with the  form N-652 at the end of the interview. My Oath is scheduled for next Wednesday, so in a week and someone I talked to from the Facebook group N-400 got her interview on Monday and her Oath is this coming Friday.
Good Luck 🍀 everyone!
