Extremely long processing times for AOS at field offices

Hi,

As I'm sure you know, the processing times for the majority of USCIS field offices has increased tremendously, from a little under a year just 6 months ago to over 3 years at most locations.

So...

1. This means my spouse is going to have to wait nearly 3 years even to get an interview with USCIS? We haven't even heard about a biometrics appointment let alone an interview...

2. Is this a result of USCIS cutting its staff by 70%?

Thanks, I'm sure most of you are going through this, if the I-944 didn't trip you up enough...

You mean for adjustment of status from a USC? In that case it cannot take 3 years! I would say around 1 year right now but who knows.

Offices are taking biometric appointments again

I mean AOS from a K1 visa. I am the USC, my now-spouse is the applicant.

Here's Cleveland field office's processing time for an example, it's the same nearly everywhere else for the I-485....

Yes, 11 months right now for Spouses of US citizens. But who knows if it will be delay because COVID-19. So far, things are moving though, and offices are starting to do biometrics again, which is a good sign.

These numbers are very dynamic and not only move down but sometimes go up... it's very confusing. The VJ timelines are much more accurate.

Best bet would be to apply ASAP.

Has anyone had a biometrics appointment in July 2020 ? My NOA1 was approved on May 6, and I have not received any inormation as to when my Biometrics will be. Who knows even if the field office has received my application yet. Very sad situation.
