I did my biometrics for my I-751 application in July and USCIS and has had that application as ‘interview ready to be scheduled’ since then.

Weirdly enough I got another Form I-797 NOA for my naturalization N-400 application scheduling me for another biometrics appointment. I thought they automatically applied existing biometrics to concurrent applications? Seems odd since it’s all electronic.

Has anyone else had this happen? I’m gonna call to see if they can apply the biometrics taken for my I-751 application to the N-400 since I just did them a couple of months ago already.

Happened to me. Got I-751 biometrics in July, more than a year after I applied, then got another biometrics appointment for N-400 in August.

They only applied existing biometrics during COVID, so I think they are getting back to normal with new biometrics for every application.

So you actually went in 2 separate times to provide biometrics in consecutive months?

Did you try to ask to have your first biometrics applied to the N-400 application?

That seems terribly inefficient IMO.

It is super inefficient indeed, especially cause my second one was out of state. 😖

I didn’t want to rock the boat so I just went and did it, cause at least it only took a couple of months to be scheduled.

Yeah worst case I’ll just go in and get it done to keep the process moving. Just seems completely redundant. 😂

Thanks for sharing your experience. I appreciate it!

Just following up on my process for anyone else who is in the same boat. I went in for my second biometrics appointment for the N-400 application this week after completing the I-751 application biometrics in July. They gave me a preparation booklet for the naturalization citizenship test questions (light reading for the next dozen months or so I guess 😂). This is what my case status looks like now for both the I-751 and N-400 applications.
