a question for anyone who's done the application.

since I live w my parents... I had my mom write a letter for us. My question is should I send her ID copy or a utility bill along with it? or is just her letter enough?

I didn't send any letters from any relatives or friends of ours, but I think it didn't indicate the need for any copies of ID in the website. Just a signature and relationship with the couple.

Hello, it´s been 2 challenging years, (specially this 2020) but we are fine wifey and I, the USPS tracking site says that:

Your item was delivered at 1:28 pm on August 24, 2020 in DALLAS, TX 75266.

So I´m kinda lost about what to wait next???

How are you and how it´s your new life?

Yeah, it has been a challenging year, but we're doing ok as well.

If you've applied for an email and text notification, they'll send a message once they check your packet and it's just waiting game again for the letter for the 18 month extension of your visa.

I am so upset with myself.  We started preparing my wife's paperwork to remove conditions soon after completing AOS in 2018 and even after reading so many others' mistakes, we still used an expired i-751 form!  It looks like USCIS started processing the paperwork because it is all out of order, stapled, and contents are crossed out.  So, we'll use the CORRECT form, reprint everything, and start again.  Ugh!

Jason

We are on the same boat! I used the WRONG form too, but I'm still waiting for my returned package. Did they ask you to attach the rejection notice when you re-submit? Or was it exactly like you submit from scratch? Trying to see if I can beat the timeline here, and send out another package (knowing this is being returned for sure) Thank you!! and good luck!

Good afternoon everyone!

We sent my wife's I-751 form on Aug. 19th and it was delivered to USCIS on August 21st.

Nothing back yet, but I am confused regarding the fee. We only sent $595 fee and no biometrics fee.

Now I am afraid that  they might reject it. Did anyone has the same issue?

Thanks

Wait for them to reject it. Correct total fee (with biometrics) is $680.

What if her green card is expiring in 2 weeks...?

USCIS lost our original form, we sent it July 15th and i was delivered by July 20th, but when I am calling them they are saying that they do not have any of our information in their system...

Wouldn't it be better just to send another copy now with the correct fee? BTW shoudl I do 2 separate checks for fee and biometrics??

Thank you

They returned the entire package we sent with an I-797 "Notice of Action" explaining the rejection and a green paper that said the application was rejected.  The green paper told us to return the application after correcting the problem with the green notice.  We reused nearly all the pages we originally sent.  Each page was stamped with tracking information before rejection, so I am assuming that the green paper will explain to USCIS why every page is stamped with their tracking info or perhaps notify them that parts of the application have been reviewed.

The green paper did say we could either resubmit the original pages WITH that green paper on top or just resubmit it again like it was a new application.  We sent that green paper on top of the resubmitted application, but not the I-797.  I'm not sure if there is a benefit to resubmitting the original corrected package or submitting like its a new application.  My only guess is that they might back-date our application to the original received date rather than the date of the resubmitted application.  Maybe others know if there is any benefit other than saving our time and paper by not reprinting everything.

Either way, you should wait until you get the letter in the mail, just in case they identify more errors than just using an older version of the form.  Our notice is dated August 12 and we got it back via USPS Priority Mail on August 19, so you shouldn't have to wait too long.  It is just so frustrating to spend months preparing only to overlook such a simple thing like edition dates!

Good luck! - Jason

Hello,

I mailed my i751 package via UPS on the 10th of August to the Phoenix Lockbox. I used the form that authorizes them to use my card, paid the total fee with biometrics, 680 dollars. As of today, Aug 28th, I received nothing from them, no text, no mail, dont think they cashed the payment. I called them yesterday and they said they didnt see my case uploaded in their database, so the customer service rep directed me to email the lockbox, which I did but their auto response was confusing to me. Something like "I should not expect any further response if I was inquiring about form i751 receipt notice". I am not sure what steps to take now. What kind of mistakes would cause them to return my package? Is it possible they lost it? should I just put everything  together and mail it again?
