I got bicycle! And I am so happy!

Can somebody say me if there some rules about riding bicycle? I mean in my country, all is ok until you hit highway or city traffic, you need to have bicycle DL, mirror, reflector, so they can see you in dark, and helmet.

How it is here? Do I need DL to ride a bicycle? Is there safety rules?

I used to ride everywhere when there were reports of permanent nerve damage occurring with frequent male bicyclists, I've been cautious about riding again.

The little town I grew up in, most people didn't have a seat. It was just a seat-post sticking up. I guess they liked the pleasure of not having a seat did for them. No wonder those people rode their bikes often!

You do need the headlights if you are riding at night. Umbrellas are optional.

Congratulations. You are not required to have a DL, but most places require a bicyclists to carry identification. Normally, you must follow most rules of the road, unless noboby is watching. The laws vary per state and city. A helmet and reflectors are a good idea.

Watchout for the cagers. They tend be be very aggressive to bicycles here in the US.
