Hi all,

We recently received this email and was wondering what would be considered reasonable grounds for expedite?

My partners aunt, whom he was very close with, just passed away this week (not COVID related) and being apart from me during the greiving  process has been really hard on him. Plus being apart during the pandemic without seeing eachother since October is obviously also causing us both an extreme amount of anxiety and stress.

Is it worth applying for expedite based on these grounds? Anyone had any luck with this recently?

There’s not a person left in the country who has not been affected by COVID-19 in some way of a other. Thousands of families are separated.

I am sorry to hear you have lost a family member but that’s not going to get an expedite. I hope your fiancé can get some grief counseling if he is struggling.

Timeline in brief:

Sounds like something that will need to be addressed in the Medical so make sure you have all the records available.

That he lost a family member and is in mourning?

Also, I'm the one immigrating, so he doesn't need a medical 👌🏼

Hello, wow congratulations to you and your fiancé. I hope you’ve already been reunited with your fiancé and able to help with the grieving process. I just came across your post and I am also considering applying but not sure the best way to convey. Would you be willing to share how you applied for the expedite? Did you have a therapist or doctor’s note or  did you write your own statement?

thank you for your consideration to help!

I also would like to know more on the expedite. My father passed away. I submitted a request but it was denied.
