As much I want to have things speed up and us to be reunited, I wanted to ask an attorney whether it would be advisable to have a Congressman involved. I am pasting the answer I got back below; I do realize that everyone's case is different, hence do not take it as anything more than just information. :) In my case, the Congressman's name is Barney Frank.

------------------------

Unfortunately, you and everyone else who filed a fiancee visa petition are missing

their fiancees. So you can try a call to Barney Frank's office, but I can tell you right

now that because your case has only been pending for 4 months, there isn't anything

they're going to do for you. I think it is much wiser to hold off on asking for Barney

Frank's help in case you need help from him later. Embassies are known to do crazy

things, and we may truly need his help then. So my advice is try to be patient, and

not call his office right now.

Writing a bunch of letters to politicians and USCIS will most likely go unnoticed. But...a few very well written letters to the right media outlets might yield better results. I'm not at all trying to spoil the mood, just thinking that support from the public would strengthen our resolve. And the best way to make this a more public matter is through the media. Wouldn't USCIS be more inclined to give better information and explanations if the world was watching and not just a few politicians?? just a thought. But I'm all for helping in any way.

This is actually something I had contemplated.

Problem is, I don't know quite who to write to.

I think, however, if we can all send in letters, well-written and not too emotional (read: nothing like "I'VE BEEN WAITING FOREVER WHAT DO I DO OMG #######") then...media outlets will sure as hell go "Hmm lots of people have written about this what do we do...let's investigate!"

I plan to write to MSNBC myself.

Who's in? This sounds like a great idea as opposed to simply harassing the government.

Makes sense to me. I mean, they can put pressure on anyone. If any of the cable news networks ran a 3 minute piece on this "silent crisis for K-visa petitioners", the attention would spread. And sooner or later Uncle Sam would be forced to cough up some answers. Real answers.

And the best part about this....you can write one very well composed letter in the form of an email and send it to every news/media source imaginable. Save the trees, lol! :P

Actually I kind of think that actual letters being written might be a good idea as opposed to just simply emailing anyone.

Hard copies are good, they show real interest, intent, and will not be as easily lost among a pile of crappy TV watchers who just want to rant and rave about how much they suck or whatever.
