I know Bill y Bella already added a disclaimer, so what I'm saying here is largely redundant, but even so -

don't forget, this is like judging the average time spent on a particular road when you did all your measurements on a day when the traffic lights were broken; it's not that the data's not useful, just that it's VERY unlikely to be representative

I have every confidence that the pace will pick up soon, and as Bill y Bella said, a few good weeks will change this picture markedly :)

(PS here's the REAL reason I'm envious of the Vermontians - all the discussion happens in their thread :(

;) )

Your traffic light analogy is appropriate, except that the lights have been broken for 30 days, not 1. I am not saying they will never fix the lights. However, we are at the point now where it is reasonable to say "If they do not fix the lights, I better change my schedule because it is going to take me a lot longer than I had anticipated to get to work".

The big potential flaw in using VJ stats to make projections is that VJ members make up only a small percentage of the people who have submitted petitions to USCIS. Since we do not know that percentage, projections based on the number of open VJ petitions are unreliable and everyone should realize that the projections should not be taken too seriously. If the projections cause a lot of problems and confusion, I will delete them from the stats updates.

I will continue to update the stats periodically. I hope it is a nice compliment to Zoomer's list that shows individual petitions.

I have been checking the VJ timelines for several years prior to filing my petition in May. During that period of time, even though VJ filers were only a small percentage of petitions received at USCIS, the VJ timeline still seemed to be a fairly accurate indicator of UCISC timelines. Unfortunately, with the overflow of petitions filed in June and July, the VJ timeline is not longer accurate or reliable. The 90 day (less for VSC) approval is a thing of the past at this point. I am still hoping the rest of us May filers will get approved within 120 to 130 days.

Congratulations to Natasha & Steve. They were #2 on the K1 pending list.

K1 approved yesterday. They filed 4/12, returned an RFE on 8/30 and were finally approved after 156 days.

Looks to me like this was a petition that has been sitting on the adjudicator's desk since 8/20 when the RFE was issued. It does not look like evidence that the adjudicators are working on new petitions.

But at least it is something. :)

Did you notice? When you pull the spread sheet up including k1 and k3's....they have a date for noa1 for I130....yet in their personal timeline there is no I130 listed....why? Is this a K1 or K3?? Im confused.

Yes, I did notice that. Also the NOA1 date for the I-130 & I-129F is the same. Which I think is impossible. If you are filing for a K3, don't you file the I-129F after you receive the NOA1 for the I-130?

I assume this couple applied for a K1 and somehow some data got into the I-130 field. I still don't understand how that happens but it seems to happen a lot.

Maybe you could ask the question in the Site Related Discussion forum?

I guess we are in the same boat as september filers. Looking at all the delays and the long processing times here, seems like we are in for a rough and very long ride. I also recieved my NOA 1 on the 10th of september, so will be good to see how we both progress together. one question tho, i saw from your timeline that your case was 'touched' ... how do you find something like that out? ive entered my reciept number on to the USCIS website and created a username but no touches as of yet.. Is this where you are notified that your case file is "touched" ?

Yes, but it won't actually use the word "touched". When you login to check your case status it will say "Last Updated" and gives a date. If that date is later than your NOA1 then your case was touched on that date.

yes, it will say on the site if touched (updated), remember touched can be as simple as being moved from one location to another-not necessarily someone viewing your file or judging your information

I added April to the stats and added a column for NOA1's.

The projected number of processing days is based upon the number of open petitions divided by number of petitions approved per day for the last 30 days. As the approval rate changes, the projected processing time will change also. Perhaps dramatically. Please do not take the projections too seriously.

This table lays out very well in my Internet Explorer. If it looks strange in your browser please let me know.
