yes...I had a great time. Thank you. You are right Melinda....its soo hard to say good bye and have to come back. Got home Friday and by Sunday he lost dsl.... :crying: THATS making it HARDER!! But we did have a wonderful time. Spent time reviewing the petition and information...more of my small details such as schools attended...brothers address...kids phone numbers....ex spouses home towns and occupations...why marriage failed...and so on. Just the details we already talked over like THREE years ago.... Also went through different concerns on adjustments here in the states...how weddings here differ from there...our own marriage contract for just us...(since they aren't really legally binding here...he thinks its a great "life map" to have one.) And just hung out...movies...dinner out...celebrated my bday there....

Optimist!!! GOT IT...thank you thank you thank you...

Yes we need to stay positive. Negative energy will just make the process go slower...maybe we can all share positive things we can do to pass the time???

I'll start....

www.blurb.com

I made a hardcover book with pictures of our trips for us to take to the interview from this site. I highly recommend it. These are high quality, affordable AND great idea for Christmas gifts...Im making one with my grandsons pictures and a "story line" for each of them. And a family history book for each of my kids.... Something to stay busy with......

Using windows movie maker you can set pictures of sentimental value to music and create a video for your SO.

I used a digital camcorder and recorded shopping trips, outings, things aorund my neighborhood ect to send him a CD of to see. Hopeing it will help make him feel more familar to his surroundings when he comes....

Gathered work and application and AMERICAN interview processes and tips. Remember...each country is different. I sent him sample interview questions, with different style interviewing techniques as well as sample employment appllications and sample US resumes (other places call them CV's and they use a different format) This will help them adjust to and find work faster.

What are some other things some of you do to POSITIVELY pass the time.

OHHHH and we MOVED UP on the list.... FIRST TIME to move on up....YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I noticed some of the above (just a sample...) ALSO applied for I-130's. Take #13 Charito and Dennis. Im confused. Aren't I130's if you are already married?????? So wouldn't that make these K3 visas? Doesn't that sort of make the numbers off from the TRUE fiance visa petition? How can someone file a K1 visa for fiance AND a I130 for spouse???? Im confused. Am I missing something here? If you pull the VJ timeline for ALL...it will show the I130's noa1 date then a K1 noa1 date to. How can it be both?

Darn. Now everyone is optimistic again. :goofy: It was sooooo much more fun when everyone was mad as hell and threatening to eliminate USCIS one lazy no good adjudicator at a time. :ranting:

Now that was entertainment!

Here's a few facts to get everyone in the proper frame of mind again.

1. Tracking K1's from NOA1 date to NOA2 date, VSC is now the slowest service center clocking in at 112 days and rising. For petitions submitted during the first three months of 2007, the average was 26 days. In order to maintain this positive trend in processing times, I-129F fees were increased 168%. :o

2. Since returning from the Labor Day holiday VSC has issued exactly 1 NOA2 for a K1 and 1 for a K3. (Today's results if any excluded.)

3. For the last 30 days excluding today, VSC has issued NOA2's for 14 K1's & 6 K3's. At this blistering pace the last May filer on the K1 pending list will get their NOA2 in approximately 62 days. I will get to the top of the K1 list from my current position at 124 in 264 days. If I did the math correctly, that will be May 31,2008. :clock: When I proposed I told Bella we would have her visa in 3 months.

4. If your beneficiary was from Cuba and you submitted your petition after the end of March you would have received your NOA2 in 16 days on average. Thank goodness our politicians have fast tracked the Cuba petitions! The world is safer for democracy every time we take an unmarried person from Cuba. Eventually there will be only married people left and then Castro I or II will come begging us to turn Cuba into a giant Club Med so he has a place to pick up girls. :dancing:

5. USCIS promises to process fiance(e) visa petitions in 6 months. Unless they don't. In which case they will be penalized by being forced to post the actual petition dates they are processing on their website. On the other hand, if you happen to be an athlete, artist or entertainer the service level commitment for your work visa application is only 2 months. Sorry to keep you waiting Mr. Beckham.

Now, until we see the pace of approvals pick up I don't want to hear any more talk of positive energy and optimism. :bonk: The visa gods don't like it when you ignore reality. It makes them really angry. :diablo: And if things don't pick up real soon we will all know it is YOUR fault.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh......OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh...lol..just when i thought u paid me a compliment and agreed with something I said...oh well...back to the optimistic drawing board.....hmmm lets see......

1. Ok..so we average 112 day wait....I figure at MY age...I may have 30 good marriage years left...112 DAYS is but a small drop in the bucket compared to a lifetime....we just impatient...

2. VCS will pick up the pace....visa gods or not.....reality is...we have a choice...we can be negative for the entire 112 day average wait time...OR we can choose to find the good and use it in a positive way....hmm..I for one don't want to spend 112 days miserable.....anyone else???

Dont get me wrong....I hate the wait...I think its way to long..I think we as an American public need to take ACTION...not sit and feel sorry for ourselves...but I choose NOT to find all the negatives on a daily basis..this process is hard enough without daily reminders that our fate rests in the hands of complete strangers working a cushy government job. With that said....

I choose to be positive and happy with whatever days God hands me. These are days God gives us...this is the path that is ours to take...and we can be happy in it...or make it miserable...the choice is yours.....

Choose wisely...we only have these days to live once.

Smile....Dance.... and lets find happiness in the days we are given...even if it means waiting...

OHHHH and ohh no....a positive thought...yes...ANOTHER ONE...

every day I wait....makes me ONE day closer to my approval....so BRING IT ON BABY...IM A WAITN FOR THAT SWEET DAY TO COME!!

I will see if i can detect and correct the situation, but the problem is as someone else stated, garbage in, garbage out...

Does it really matter which visa they are applying for? Aren't we really looking for approvals of the I-129f anyway? i don't see how it makes a difference. It may take a longer to actually sift through those applicants' petitions, but the length of wait until review should be the same, no?

The wait for approvals on K3's is different and in some cases longer....That CAN make our numbers and estimated adjudication dates off.

bszoom42...you can use the ALL filter in the spreadsheets under visa timeline...it may require a bit more work...but the ones filing I130's show an noa1 date under that column That is one way to distinguish which is a true K1 and a real K3. There are quite a few of them.

I SAW that wink....you devil  you....hehehheeh....I know its in good fun....I just HAD to give it right back at ya.....

It took me a while but I finally see what she is seeing in the VJ Visa Timelines table. (Is that the only place you saw this amrssnowangel?)

She is right, there are lots of timelines that have both the visa type as K-1 and a I-130 NOA1 Date on that particular spreadsheet. (Go to Visa Timelines / Filter by All / Sort by I-130 date and then scroll through looking at the visa types to find them.) When I tried to follow the links to the profiles I found one of 3 things. 1) No link. 2) Link went to a forum. 3) Link went to a normal K1 profile and K1 timeline.

There is no field for I-130 info in a K-1 timeline so I don't think this is a data entry error unless it is possible to have 2 timelines for the same profile.

Until I can figure out a way for the member to add I-130 info on a K1 timeline or set up two different timelines for the same profile I am thinking this is a VJ bug.

Your thoughts?

I have a suggestion. If I may....

First ty for the vote of confidence there...

But when we sign up...there IS a field to put in the date for the I130 AND the K1. This issue isn't in entering this information...its in the type of visa filed for. To the best I can see...people are confused. They see that in that field there is a few options and K1 seems the best fit. What they fail to realize is that filing the I129 form ISNT just k1...but part of the K3 process. So due to lack of instruction, they pick K1 not K3. Thus putting them in the K1 catagory not K3. Make sense? If I go to my profile options I can change what petition I filed for.....What the site needs is more instruction on how to pick the options...maybe a questionaire form with yes and no questions that would then automatically fill in the information for which petition. Such as....

Are you married? Yes NO

user checks yes...then up pops next question.

Did you file form I130? yes no

and so on

or

Are you married? Yes No

user checks no...up pops next fields

Did you file form I129F? Yes No

and so on.

Or just simple instructions..making the numbers way more accurate. As you can see...some of the K1's that filed I130's have noa2's AND interview dates all in short times....some have much longer waits. This does interfere with OUR true K1 numbers. AND if you take OUT all these K1's that are really K3's......my original theory is holding.... Sort of. Its getting there (positive rays beaming from my finger tips)

I used to work with numbers, spreadsheets and quality control as a manager....if I can be of any assistance...please let me know...I seem to have an eye for small details....

Any questions? Or did I totally confuse you??

hey bszoom42....I have a question......

11 charlene & kevin K1 5/10/2007

12 lalina & ramesh K1 5/16/2007

13 charito & dennis K1 5/17/2007

14 gabriel & shawn K1 5/17/2007

15 christian & sophia K1 5/18/2007

16 abby & todd K1 5/21/2007

17 ann & cory K1 5/21/2007

18 leidy & byron K1 5/21/2007

19 eh & kt K1 5/23/2007

20 d & gail K1 5/24/2007

I noticed some of the above (just a sample...) ALSO applied for I-130's. Take #13 Charito and Dennis. Im confused. Aren't I130's if you are already married?????? So wouldn't that make these K3 visas? Doesn't that sort of make the numbers off from the TRUE fiance visa petition? How can someone file a K1 visa for fiance AND a I130 for spouse???? Im confused. Am I missing something here? If you pull the VJ timeline for ALL...it will show the I130's noa1 date then a K1 noa1 date to. How can it be both?

The problem here is I am using the data that people have selected... in all of your examples, the timeline owners have listed themselves as pursuing a K1.

I will see if i can detect and correct the situation, but the problem is as someone else stated, garbage in, garbage out...

bszoom:

This type of stuff would be better suited to the Site Discussion threads so Ewok can see them and possibly implement if he thinks it will add value. You guys might weant to start a new thread over there, or maybe one of the mods might see this and split it off into its own topic over there. I think its an important discussion and it would be great if it could get the attention it deserves!

2. VCS will pick up the pace....visa gods or not.....reality is...we have a choice...we can be negative for the entire 112 day average wait time...OR we can choose to find the good and use it in a positive way....hmm..I for one don't want to spend 112 days miserable.....anyone else???

Actually, I think it's realistic to hope that VSC will pick up the pace. There had been a significant wait for NOA1's, but my own wait was very short in terms of business days: VSC got my I-129F on 8/31 and issued my NOA1 on 9/4. That is even shorter than it sounds -- Labor Day weekend was 9/1-9/3, so in other words, my NOA1 is dated one business day after they received my I-129F. That's progress! Another member from the August filer thread had the same experience, too. And as the receipting backlog improves, hopefully the NOA1-NOA2 response time will improve. That's my take on it, anyway; I don't think we are looking at an imminent return to hearing about NOA2's coming 11 days after NOA1's, but I think the drought we saw lately is going to be temporary. Lord willing, things will then proceed in the proper direction, time-wise...
