There's even a "date of travel" space. These could be a little confusing.

From what I read in a thread in the UK sub-forum the London Embassy have been known to expedite interviews based on travel or wedding dates but they won't guarantee it. The general rule of thumb is still not to make any confirmed plans until you have your visa.

When Scott and I embarked on this process we thought that Vermont would have us adjudicated within 30 days and we'd have the visa by October or November! Based on that we've made 'loose' plans for me to move out there on 12th Jan and get married in Vegas on 30th Jan. We're pretty sure that we won't make these dates now but I'll still put them down on Packet 3 (if I get Packet 3 before then :o ) and see what happens. We won't actually book or pay for anything though.

For me the biggest problem is not the dates for getting married but actually moving out there because my home is up for sale here in the UK and I could get an offer on it any day. Once my home is sold I'll have nowhere to live. :help:

Although I do think I'll end up feeling really guilty if I did get an earlier interview than others. It's tricky.

Gillian

Has anyone got a link to a thread or a guide to what is in packet 3?

I have looked, but unless I am going loopy (probably :lol: ) I can't see one anywhere!

If you look at the profile pics for TimsDaisy, she has the scans saved there. Her fiance is a Brit and interviewed in July 07. Here's the link:

http://www.visajourney.com/gallery/thumbna...y&uid=30186

I found it interesting that Page 4 of the instructions has a place to fill in the wedding date. but earlier in the instructions they make it very clear to NOT set a date for the wedding.

We don't have a wedding date......then I guess we will have to make it up, right?

I have no idea what one would do about that space. I guess you would either leave it blank or something like "To be decided". Hmmm. i wonder if Moscow sends the same instruction....

When I talked to the contact at the embassy in syria she told me if we've made plans or travel arrangements already to enter the dates there as the embassy will attempt to accomodate those arrangements already made. But i don't know if this is the way it is at all embassy's

June 22, 2007 - I come back to the US

June 24-July 27,2008 - lots of research on VJ and work on gathering the papers needed...

July 31, 2007 - I-129F package received by VSC - YAY!!!! I was sooo excited getting the return receipt in the mail - on my way out to look for bridesmaids dresses :) Now all I need is a case number so I can track online - I'm so anxious!!!

August 13, 2007 - NOA1 - YAY!!!

JANUARY 8, 2008 - APPROVED!!!!

May 14, 2008 - he's finally here

Alright, it's Sunday night. Tomorrow begins a new week. Time to get the rest of these May filers approved and move onto June and July. Why does it feel like there are so few August filers? Maybe they all tried to beat the fee increase. And I've yet to see a September thread.

Well, I just did a quick search of everyone who sent in their I-129f after September 1st. I got a total of 11 results. But 2 of them obviously provided the wrong dates for their timelines. One of them even claims to have mailed their petition in 2008. Another one claims they mailed their's in on the 1st of October, 2007...

Pretty bright bunch coming out of September. I wonder how many other mistakes there are which affect our adjudicated projection dates.....

Hahahahahah Jason. This cracked me up!!!!!!

Alright, it's Sunday night. Tomorrow begins a new week. Time to get the rest of these May filers approved and move onto June and July. Why does it feel like there are so few August filers? Maybe they all tried to beat the fee increase. And I've yet to see a September thread.

August is looking pretty light at the moment although there will be more members finding their way to VJ over the next couple of months.

Remember that these are K1 stats only.

Here is my theory as to what is going on. Some of you have heard it before.

I am betting that there was a greater surge in employment based petitions than there was in K-1 petitions. I am also betting that they now have more adjudicators working on the employment based petitions and less on the K-1's than normal. This is because the USCIS service commitment for most employment visas is 2 months or less while they have given themselves 6 months to complete the I-129F's. Given the 6 month cushion on I-129F's, they could afford to slow down processing the I-129F's while they tried their best to meet the much shorter commitment on the employment based petitions.

I am hoping that the employment based petitions will be caught up soon and they will then put more adjudicators back on K1's & K3's. If the surge came in June and July and the service level commitment is 2 months or less, than the employment based surge has to be processed by the end of September at the latest unless they miss their commitment.

Anyway, it's just a theory folks. I am sure there are other ones that are just as plausible.

...I don't have the info on hand, but if I remember right...they actually stopped taking the work visa applications before the July fee increase.

Something was said about "okay we've had enough, no more this year" or whatever.

So...

While there may have been an increase at one point, and while they may still be working on those, at some point you have to think they'll be done.

I may have actually reiterated the same thing you just said, but I don't quite know.

Interesting. I really don't know much about the employment based visas. I had a quick look on the USCIS site and could not really reach any conclusions.

If they were not accepting employment based visa petitions during the pre price increase surge, it puts a big hole in my theory.

Maybe someone who knows about the employment based visas can help us out here.

And yes, we are saying the same thing. If indeed there was a surge in employment based petitions at some point they should work through all of those. Then things should start to pick up for those of us who are lovers and not workers. ;)

Yes, you are correct. Since they put their NOA2 as 8/28, they fall into the time that TSC sent to VSC. However, looking at all their timeline data, it appears that they really were handled by CSC.

I am going to have to adjust my algorithms to be more complicated, and as such, I will need to mine more data to make better decisions.
