Waiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?

CONGRATULATIONS JonOz AND Soaringeagle on BOTH of your K1 NOA2'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO GO VSC!!!!!!!!!!! There were 4 or 5 petitions with NOA1S of May 17th. I'd assume that the others will follow shortly this week with more approvals to. Im finding that the NOA1 dates are pretty much going in order, with the exception of the few. AND BOTH these couples were approved almost 3...yes THREE WEEKS earlier than their adjudication dates....20 days ealier to be exact. NOA2s were May 18, Adjudication estimate was September 6!! HOW COOL IS THAT!!!

Good luck everyone, hang in there....our turn is a coming!!!

NOA2's were May 18? I assume you meant August 18. :)

I agree, it is great to see some NOA2's that beat the projections. That makes everyone's projected adjudication date a little sooner.

However, I'm not sure I can agree with some of your other assumptions. There are 16 K1's and 12 K3's with NOA1 dates that preceed May 17 that are still waiting. K1's are processed faster than K3's, but if petitions were being processed pretty much in NOA1 date order one would assume that the 16 earlier K1 petitions would get approval before the petitions with 5/17 NOA1's. I would hesitate to tell members with May 17 NOA1's to expect approvals this week because they could possibly wait quite a while longer. And also, what will you tell the 6 people with April NOA1's who are still waiting?

Also brace yourself, because when the 16 older petitions get approved, their processing times will increase the averages and everyone's projected adjudication dates will be moved back again unless there are enough "early" approvals to offset their impact on the averages.

I think there is a certain amount of luck involved in determining when a petition is adjudicated. Ex-adjudicator Huskerkiev says that an adjudicator grabs of box of petitions and takes it to his desk (or home!) to work on it. Hopefully the boxes are lined up in NOA1 date sequence order so that the oldest ones are processed first, but that is not always the case. If an adjudicator gets sick or takes a vacation the box of petitions on his or her desk could possibly sit idle for a week or so. Also adjudicators working from home might only update their work in the USCIS system once a week. (By the way, if there are no RFE's or other problems, a petition can be approved in only 15 minutes!) To read Huskerkiev's posts, there is a link in my signature.

In any case, any approval is a good approval right? The pace for the first half of August was horrible. As far as I am concerned there is no good explanation why the pace has slowed so much for April and May filers. A pre fee increase spike of petitions and the Texas petitions now going to Vermont should have an impact on July and later filers, not petitions that were in the system in April and May. Maybe it is simply a sympton of lots of adjudicators taking vacations and the pace will improve in a few weeks. Let's hope so!

I failed to mention the numbers were MAY only...and that it was both K3 AND K1...but if u look at the profiles of those still waiting...most haven't been logged on here in a while...whose to say they dont HAVE the noa2??? And some may have RFE's.....I was merely suggesting based on the process SO far...that we can expect some of these dates in later May to see noa2's.... and yes i meant August not May 18...

We've all waited for these noa2's for a while now...lets not dampen it.

*hollow laugh*

I'm at something like #358 on the CSC list... and have gone backward about five times in a row

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

I am not trying to dampen anything. If anyone wants to assume that petitions with late May NOA1's will get approvals this week because there were 4 K1 NOA2's (NOA1's of 5/2, 5/9, 5/17 & 5/17) and 3 K3 NOA2's (NOA1's of 2-26, 3-8 & 3-22) last week they are welcome to do so.

As #118 on the most recent K1 pending list from bszoom, I can't get too excited about a pace of 4 K1 NOA2's per week. At 4 per week I will be waiting approximately 7 more months to receive my NOA2.

As to the possibility of the older VJ timelines being abandoned, yes that is possible. However, there have traditionally been very few members who abandon their timelines. For September 2006 through February 2007 the average VSC K1 & K3 combined average dropout rate was 2 1/3 filers per month.

I think we should all remain optimistic and hope for the best, but at the same time be cautious about assuming that happy days are here again before there is clear evidence to show that is the case.

I did some checking and found that since March there are only 15 K1's still waiting NOA2's.

Out of those 15 2 have RFE's and 1 Denied leaving 12 waiting for actual NOA2's

Out of 12 waiting still with NO word, 3 are MIA for over a month

Leaving 9 waiting

Out of those 9 waiting 4 haven't been back since the first two weeks of August to update...maybe waiting?? maybe RFEs?

Out of those 5 left waiting ONE seems to have an approval but didn't report the NOA2 on the timeline

That leaves 4 waiting...

So with THOSE numbers combined with the dates that VSC has worked up to (noas of May 17th) I think its fair to say the next NOA2S we can expect will be some from those with noa1's of May 17th. The average that these are approved over all in the last 3 months is 95 days. If you look at individual timelines you can see where most are approved a minimum of 2-3 weeks before the estimated date given on VJ. Once again if u combine all the numbers of days waited for both K1 AND K3 you DO come up to the estimated VJ date. I've done ALL the numbers...and thats how it seems to be working to me. SO...I do feel confident in saying a lot of the people with noa's from May 17th on can expect to start seeing their petitions approved. If you go by those NOA1 dates..in most cases you only get a few a week...remembering that some get RFE's, some wait longer, and some just don't update timelines. So, I DO fee confident we will continue to see petitions approved steadily over the next weeks and maybe faster as fall approaches. I wasn't speaking of the last week or two only...but am looking at the whole picture.

The information below is a summary of those K1's still waiting noa2s. Just look in the timeline data base to verify.

You have more courage than I do if you can state your projections with such confidence. There are a lot of variables that not only do we not control, we do not even know what they are.

But I give up. I hope that you are right. :)

As for me, the road looks very long as of now. When I start seeing a lot more approvals per week on a consistent basis I will feel more optimistic.

Hi all. OK, add me to this list. Yulia and I (Jeff) received our NOA-1 for the K-1 Visa on March 23. We are still waiting for the NOA-2. I have called them about 12 times and the last time I talked to someone at USCIS, they said they would send out an e- mail to get this for me. Well I just sent out a letter also. ###### !!! Can't believe how messed up this is !!!! Good luck to everyone waiting for their NOA-2 Jeff
