The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Welcome, and this site is probably what will keep you sane during the wait you have ahead of you...what you should do is read up and prepare, prepare and prepare for the road ahead...make sure you have all the requirements that your specific embassy wants at the time of the interview...doing all this preparing is what kept me busy and sane when i started the process...In the beginning i was pulling my hair out , everyday seemed so lon, but then i got into the reading and things seemed to calm down....Good luck!!!!!!!!

So i just got my NOA2 today - also found this forum today - and cried for the first time while on VJ today - i don't even care that i'm #124 on this amazing list. Its just good to have something to track - i had never been so desperate to be touched or poked or whatever!! :P

We spent a long 3 hours on the phone today - its amazing how u can find so much to talk about when not limited to a phone card (he doesn't do it often, but every once in a while he'll call from the house and run up a phone bill) i always get off the phone after one of these calls so sad for a while i've forgotten he's so far away and then it has to come to an end - he told me he had to go an hour and a half into it - but somehow i managed to keep him on for another hour an a half......Love is simply amazing.

Enough of that on a funnier note - my best friend wants to know if there is a support group like this for best friends of ppl waiting for approval! She's goin nutz listening to me...

Good luck to all and thank you for this wonderful list!!

Welcome to the forum!!!

Isn't the list amazing? This is the first topic I look for whenever I log on to VJ. I has become near and dear to my heart.

And I totally feel you on the endless phone conversations. For us 10 minutes turns into an hour and next thing you know 5 hours have gone by  (and it ain't cheap!!)

Good luck on your journey...we will all be out of the black hole of VSC soon :)

Ok i have a question .... I got my NOA1 which in turn allowed me to register on USCIS and check case status.... my NOA1 has a date of Aug. 13 but on the USCIS site it shows last updated on aug 17 - is that because that is the date i registered or is it possible i was touched on the 17th??

I am confused about this touching thing. Its funny - i thought i'd be relieved when i got the NOA but instead i'm still just anxious for the next piece of correspondence - I know i won't see n ething today or tomorrow but i m checking the websites like a mad woman!!

Ok another question ....I m much more detail oriented and effecient when it comes to paperwork than my fiance is... I emailed the American Embassy in Syria and the wonderful woman on the other end told me everything he would need for Packet 3 - my question is - is there a way around not being able to save the filled out pdf's. When i filled out the 129f and G325 I was warned i could only print not save.....

December 31, 2006 - I call to wish him a Happy New Year (It was 3 am his time)

May 14, 2007 - Fly to Syria with my family to meet

May 18, 2007 - His entire family comes to my house to ask for my hand - I say YES!

June 15, 2007 - We get engaged in the church and have a reception for our families (it's the only "wedding" his family will see)

June 22, 2007 - I come back to the US

June 24-July 27,2008 - lots of research on VJ and work on gathering the papers needed...

July 31, 2007 - I-129F package received by VSC - YAY!!!! I was sooo excited getting the return receipt in the mail - on my way out to look for bridesmaids dresses :) Now all I need is a case number so I can track online - I'm so anxious!!!

August 13, 2007 - NOA1 - YAY!!!

JANUARY 8, 2008 - APPROVED!!!!

May 14, 2008 - he's finally here

June 22, 2008 - "Wedding Bells"

August 7 - Adjustment of Status and EAD sent

August 11 - Dates of both NOA1 for AOS and EAD

and we wait....

September 4, 2008 - Biometrics appt in Phila for both AOS and EAD

Love is what makes you smile when you're tired....

I used the full version of Acrobat 8, and that allowed me to save changes to PDFs.

that would be a touch....most people get their first touch a day or two after their NOA1 date which means that your file moved from one pile to another ;)

just know that you probably will not have another touch for a longgggggggggg time (my last one was july 12, and some people havent had one since may)

Here is the latest Vermont Filers Summary Data

The report indicates that processing times continue to increase.

On a related topic, there are 86 Texas petitions with NOA1 dates in May, June or July that I think should be included in the Vermont statistics if we want an accurate picture. As an example, there have been 11 TSC approvals so far this month. Unless I am mistaken, those approvals came from the VSC. Shouldn't they be shown in the VSC statistics?

I am wondering if it might be a good idea if members with timelines that show Texas as their service center change it to show Vermont.

What are your thoughts?

I think that anything for Texas prior to July went to CSC so only the ones for July and August should be included. I may be wrong though.

It would get slightly more complicated too because some of the Texas people would have filed directly to Vermont during the month of July and some would have still filed at Texas, and we don't know what happened to those applications. I believe you filed direct to Vermont (as per instructions) only to have it sent to CSC!! Who knows what goes on with USCIS?? :D
