Hi Y'all. I am new to this wonderful website. Like many of you, I am a mid June filer with  no touches of note (one touch early on at the end of June). I share your sentiments about how messed up the system is and I feel the roller coaster taking me lower and lower every day. Sara, my fiance', is stressing about this heavily and this forced separation is weighing on us greatly. Our relationship is wonderful and we will weather this storm but this is one we should never have to endure.

There are a few things I'd like to share -

-My lawyer's paralegal finally broke down after much prodding early this week and called the VSC (oh yes, "Service" is our middle name!!!!). She was told that they were currently processing applications dated May 19th and that they are averaging one day's filings per day. My response to the paralegal was that the VsC person was being "less than genuine" with her due to the fact that petitions are being handled totally out of order. Her response:

-My congresswoman sent in a letter on my behalf early in November (3 weeks after her staffer promised me that she would). Yesterday, I asked her staffer to inquire again as nothing at all had happened. She said that they now must wait until the end of December to call due to "Congressional protocals". That sounds bogus to me.

-On Wednesday, I wrote both Senators and I have not yet heard anything from them. They will certainly be getting calls on Monday a.m.

As my peition is rapidly approaching the 180 day mark, I am wondering what effect if any will my calling the VsC on the 180th day? Do any of you have experience with this? If so, will it do me any good or will I just get told to call back in 30 days?

Last, I just want to say that I am very impressed with the great support that all of you have provided to eachother. Just reading posts the last few days has been inspiring.

Hi I am Lora......Oscar and I filed June 5 and have heard nothing also.....I have done everything you have and have gotten the same lying response.......Today is my 180th day.....I am calling them on Monday......of course the customer service people get to be with there loved ones on the weekends unlike all of us.......This has been very stressful on Oscar and I also but I have to believe that through all of this we will be stronger as a couple because our love has been tested like this.......you can see also in this thread that we have sent chocolate and press releases and questions to TV stations....I even am waiting for a Congressional liason to get back with me about hearings....I have contacted Senators and Congressman.......an I do not take bullcrap from them.....I vote and I remind them of that fact when I speak to them...they work for me....they are not doing me a favor here........It is there job to work for us.....I am really thinking about going to Washington tomorrow....I live very close and walk into the Department of Homeland Security and talk to anyone who will listen to me....even the guard.....with information from this website.......they are inept, uncaring and it is unreal that this has been allowed to go on like this.....that federal agency is this customer unfriendly......so Yes my friend I feel your pain....I feel your frustration.......and my suggestion is to become a pain in there butt......You are there customer......How much worse can it get????......I wish I had waited and filed in July....Lora

Hey,

Just my advice from my perspective but I was only kidding a little about the taser thing on the June waiters thread. I think it's a bad idea to go there and when they start patronizing you it could get ugly because you're fed up already. The 'authorities' don't have restraint or couth these days.

Try to make an appointment with someone. At least don't go alone. They found your file and said the supervisor will work it right? What are the odds they are dumb enough to lose it again?

I am thinking 180 days worth of dumb.....hahaha....I trust them as far as I can throw them.........I have had so many lies told to me that I do not know what to believe....I am calling USCIS asking for a formal inquiry and then I am calling Dept of Homeland Security and try to make an appointment....The only think now is the security at the door....I am now going set of the alarms....hahahahahaha......taser is a bad thing for me

Hi Lora. It seems like more and more of us are finding our way to this forum. I appreciate your gusto and I would really enjoy being there when you visit the DoHS in Washington. The incompetance of the USCIS is so bad it is tragic. I wonder if anyone in DoHS has taken notice. I guarantee that if the USCIS functioned in the real business world they would have all been fired by now. Its good to know that my tax dollars and my fees are going towards keeping such a disfunctional entity alive.

As my 180th day is coming up in 12 days I would really like to know how your call with "customer service" goes. I have little hope for any help from them. Sara and I are already talking about my moving to London instead of her coming here. If we cannot get any answers from them in the very near term I am going to start looking to see if I can transfer my job over there.

You know I will definately let you know....I wish I had the option to move to Peru........Oscar has a good job and life in Arequipa and I like the area but I am not allowed to take my 10 and 12 year olds out of the country by the divorce agreement......and I could never leave them.......so this is our only option......I so agree with you.....inept...incompetent......down right stupid.....I arely say I hate something but I have gotten to that point with them........I went to the Washington Redskins game today to try to get my mind off of this stuff today but somehow in the box set was a couple that spent a year getting his wife her from Korea........I feel like it follows me where ever I go........PLEASE APPROVE US...ALL OF US

Positivitey is always good Lora. Life is indeed a gift and we need to cherish it. Sometimes though, especially when going through this process it is hard to see the good for the cloud of bureaucracy that we have to deal with. When we were waiting for our NOA2 I did my own share of ranting and venting for the slowness of VSC and now I do it on behalf on everyone else still waiting.

Hang in there...we'll make it through
