Waiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?

Tis true :D but still not a very good excuse for my 'senior moment'. And yes - I can TOTALLY understand how you feel to get that albatross from around your neck!

I know that I've read of at least two people who that has happened to - I believe LisaD is one of them.

No idea - but I have noticed its gradual slowdown over the past month or so -- even before they took on some Texas and Nebraska filers. They used to be lightning fast, and while I expected some slowdown with the new filers, I didn't expect it to hit this soon (or even before the fee increase).

Perhaps its something as simple as staff being on summer vacations?

I know LisaD and StillthePrettiest both were transferred to CSC but that was before the new processing centers went 'officially' into effect. I haven't seen that happen to anyone that filed at VSC after July 30.

I know I read in a thread *somewhere* that VSC were prioritzing other types of petitions for awhile, but that they'd be back up to speed mid-July. Obviously that hasn't happened. Oh I wish I could remember where I read that! So, there's MY senior moment!!!

Oh, ok - that's exactly what I was after -- that no VSCers had the LisaD/StillthePrettiest experience after July 30th.

I still wonder why they bothered to 'allow' you to file at the other location pre July 30th if they were just going to transfer them anyway? USCIS at work...!

 We're both allowed I guess! That would make more sense, really, except they're obviously off pace if they've not switched gears again by now.

*edited cos I can't type, and I am craving a Hostess ding dong...! *

...shouldn't we include those prior to July 31 on our list here? Those approvals would also count as VSC approvals since thats' who is servicing them. Texas forwarded to California right?? And Nebraska to Vermont??? Am I correct? If we want a more accurate idea of the noa2's and work coming out of VSC...i personally think we should include Nebraska petitions in our numbers.....May be a bit more encouraging to. :) Correct me if Im wrong....any ideas would be helpful.

I think everything you said above is correct, in general, but what with the recent changes things aren't necessarily going according to plan

we, for example, sent our I-129F package directly to VSC, as instructed on the USCIS website, and it was only when I first used the tracking number from the back of the cheque that I found it had been sent on from VSC to CSC (no, no idea why either)... so THEN I went and changed the service centre info on my timeline here (and started posting in the CSC thread)

and we're not the only ones this happened to

so:

1. it would be a bit dangerous to assume ANYTHING, as USCIS aren't even following their own publicised rules at present

and

2. other people may have also had their cases forwarded elsewhere, but may not have realised yet

hope that comes under the heading of 'any ideas being helpful' ;)

it's something to think about, anyway...

Definetly something to think on.....Im grasping for straws here to justify something that just can't be justified in my mind. Be nice if they'd give a bit more information in general. Wonder why you were transfered??? Good luck in your journey...I think for us...my SO and I...we are just getting worried how long this will take...but I took another look at the VSC noa1's....half of the ones left with no noa2 posted from april and first half of May haven't been on the site in a month or more....so maybe some HAVE gotten noa2's and just never came back to update. So with THAT information if its even close to accurate...they are working up through mid may...still going by the 90 days we are anticipating to wait. I guess we still hope against all hope that a miracle will happen and we ALL get approved in the next week....LOL..to much to hope for??? Maybe...but i'll take 90 days....better than nothing.

Personally I think you are due for you noa2 anyday. There are 8 early May couples 5/1-5/12) left IF I counted right. Im sure you are just right on the edge of getting yours. Hang in there. I'd say if you are approved in the 100 days that the last few have been....Yours may be in the next two weeks. Good luck

Has anyone had time to 'really' read the Ombudman's report on USCIS? It's lengthy and I just skimmed through it, but I think I remember reading something about a recommendation that more checks (perhaps security) are done up front while the petition is still at USCIS......before they go to the consulates.....

Now, don't you all start jumping up and down, but I could swear I read that.

It's just one more bit of speculation re: this process slowing down so much.....in addition to the H1-B visa mess and other anomalies. If this is true, it's gonna be 90 days, or more, for everyone from here on out (except Cuban fiances).

My first petition through USCIS was approved in 12 days-->October/November 2006. I think those days are over.

If anyone has the time or patience, it might be worth looking into........and the rest of you can either hope for a miracle and speedier processing or just come to terms with the fact that this is the way it's going to be from here on out.

NOA 2: 04-02-2008-->SECOND Petition approved

Earlier in this thread a post mentions a VSC statement about catching up on H1B, i think, until July 27. This date had been moved back once or twice also. In addition, there recently was a special window opened for current H1B holders to apply for greencards. Apparently this is usually very limited and this opened the flood gates and they reopened this window again until August 12. It's a different type of application but I guess it would keep them busy, especially if they made those the priority over K1s.

Petition sent priority mail 6/4/07
