Oh Byron.........As a nurse I see many asthmatics....It seems to be a growing problem.......She is in the very best place she can be and it is true that stress can make it worst for some people.....Also weather changes and flu and allergies....who knows but the breathing tube is so good to allow the bronchils to relax and they can administer the medications more effectively......Be calm...they are coming up with new treatments everyday and people are able to control this disease........When she comes Byron you really need to get her with a pulmonologist that specializes in asthma....I am sure in the New York area with all of the big medical centers you should be able to find one.....the issue is for her to come to a new enviroment and be prepared for our new allergens.....some that her body has never seen....IMPORTANT IMPORTANT for all of us whose love ones have never been here......Just like us going to them....different enviroment....different germs......O.K....the medical lecture is over......I will pray for her Byron......Lora

That is true...the weather sometimes in NY doesn't help.....But I'm sure she can find a treatment to slow down her asthma, my aunt did.

BE strong Byron and tell Leidy we are all thinking about her!

Thank you everyone...I actually have not been able to talk to her because of the tube in her chest, i have been calling her sister and she has been keeping me posted....She really hasnt stressed about the process at all...She is very patient....they have her stable now and will be removing the tube in a couple of hours but they will keep her in the hospital for observation...She does have bad asthma and before going to the hospital she told me that 1. she cooked and there was a lot of smoke or 2. Her sister has a hamster and her son was playing with it when it bit him so she grabbed it away from him so that might be a cause also...I willbe going to see her on Dec 7th Jason, so yeah that is a huge relief!! I hope all will be well by then!!! This is so hard being so far away and helpless...if i was there i would not even think of leaving her side for a second!!! Jason she has had these bad asthma attacks in the past from what she has told me.

I appreciate all your prayers !!! Thank You!!

OK. Well, its good that this isnt something new. Sounds like she has experience with this and she will most likely pull through again. that's got to be a horrible condition to witness. Just keep telling yourself that soon she will be here with you where you can take care of her. And there's no doubt that she will have better medical care in NY than she has back home. I know that separation anxiety can worsen cases of asthma, so both of you should really try to remain as calm and patient as possible. Hang in there, buddy. I know you must hate hearing those words by now, but remember that your survival and sanity depend on it.

By the way, Byron....why did you get rid of your avitar photo? I know its been a long time, but I was curious.

I didnt mean to say that you are both stressing too much. not at all. I stress more than anyone I know. So, I just wanted to say that I can relate to such feelings and would understand the physical effects it can have on health. Hey, you found your photo. That's better! It hasn't been there for many many weeks.

Hey Byron,

Congrats again on your NOA2! At least that's off your mind. I'm glad Leidy is doing better. You might be right about the hamster as a problem. A couple years ago we had a couple hamsters and after bringing them in for the winter from the porch I could hardly breath or sleep until they were gone:(

I'm glad she will be here soon with you

 I just had another brilliant idea -

Ok, so far the press release and other attempts to get others to circulate our Hershey's protest has not been much help.

But the purpose was to 1) let VSC know we're tired of waiting 2) get sympathy from the public, and 3) let politicians know our plight.

We might be foiled in number 2, but we accomplished the first and I have an idea on how to succeed with number 3 yet.

We can send our congressmen/women and senators the press release DIRECTLY by email. They all actually read these emails from constituents and it would be a way to follow up on our past complaints to them about the process so they know it's ongoing. The press release is at this link :

hersheys press release

Let's make this work for us

PS can someone post the links to email ur congress people and senator, thanks! :help:

Ok, here is a link to find your congressperson and senators email addresses and send them the press release. your reps and senators email adds .

That and i just got off the phone with her dad and he told me that yesterday she had her aunt over and she did a waxing of her eyebrows and the doctor said that the fumes let out by the wax was probably the cause of the attack being that she is such a delicate person due to her severe asthma.

Im sure the hamster didnt help either.

Thanks Virgillionaire for your good wishes!!

I noticed on the RFE thread that someone received an RFE for a translated copy of the beneficiary's birth certificate. Here is the post.

Did anyone submit that with their I-129F? I didn't.

Maybe they ask for that if there is some confusion about the identity of the beneficiary or there is a bad guy/girl name match they are trying to clear up.
