I have been using international restrooms for many years and I still hate them all. why dont they keep water in the bowl??? Its cleaner that way. And what's up with the toilets that you actually stand on?? Seen these? Its like there are non-skid foot pads on the actual seat, for standing and welll.........hovering. Crazy! in Russia, you have to pay to use most toilets and paper is sometimes extra. hehehe.

i do agree that its cleaner with water in the toilet, but they do that so as not to waste water

i think its really smart how in some places they have a foot lever to flush the toilet and wash your hands...now that is DEFINITELY cleaner, and i have yet to see it in the US

Ohh yeah..the foot lever...but I do enjoy our Walmarts automatic flush and automatic water turn on and automatic hand dryer...LOL We do none of the work..

I get soo confused on how to work the TOILETS in the different countries..first time in Egypt...well..let me tell you...im used to the flushing thingy on the front..push down...your done....first toilet in Egypt..I looked..and llooked and looked...umm found a "button" on top...decided to push it...woooooooooo...THAT worked.but what was that other thing on the side???? Anyone ever been sprayed with a BIDET????:whistle::whistle::whistle: Well 4 years later I can't llive without my Bidet..but....lol have to admit took a trip to learn to use the bathrooms there...(no toilet paper in many and some places is just a hole in the ground.... :help::help::help::help::wacko::wacko::wacko: )

Athens is an ok airport to....would love to go back to see Greece...Amsterdam...but not France..no desire...Im sure its beautiful but after my airport experience...dont intend to go back

Amrssnowangel....I thought it was just me that thought Air France sucks! I agree about the Paris airport...very depressing and nothing good to eat.

This xmas I'm flying to nigeria and connecting through Frankfurt...never been to that airport. So far Amsterdam's airport is my fav.

Oh and I also find cheap flights on cheapoair.com.

Frankfurt's not too bad. But they are still doing some major construction in some wings of the airport. Dreary area of Frankfurt, but they have some nice bars and eateries in that airport. The restrooms are way too small and way too dirty. But that's pretty much worldwide.

Never been through Frankfurt...wanted to..but the flights to Egypt at least...seem to have a HUGE layover there..and im just tooooooooo impatient to get there...now going HOME is a different story..I dont mind a lay over...but i've learned to try to avoid them now...I really do love my direct night flight..I sleep ALL the way there...SOOOOOOOOOO cool.:dance::dance:

I'm the opposite. I dont mind a layover going to Russia. Coming home, however, I just want to get to my place as quickly as possible. During a layover on my way to Europe, its relaxing. I can extend my excitement and just sit back and people watch. I imagine that most of them are in big hurries to get to business meetings, boring trips, etc. I smile and pretend that I'm the only happy person flying. Isnt it great?

I know what you mean about watching people. I usually dont mind the layover cause im depressed about leaving...so I to sit and watch people. Met some very nice people along the way to. But i thought we WERE the ONLY HAPPY ones flying?? You mean there's more???

So, i was hearing these prices about Egypt airfares and I was thinking it sounded crazy. I work at a travel agency and I looked up some Egypt airfares for Dec 20-Jan14 and I came up with about $2200. Sometimes its better to check with an agency, so maybe you guys can end up in Egypt for the holidays!

help me travel agent!!!!!!!

im going to florence, italy from december 28th to january 6th....im willing to fly into florence (obviously this is my first choice) pisa, rome, or milan...departing from any of the airports in the nyc area (preferably jfk)...the best price ive seen so far is for $747 on those exact dates....i dont really want to leave later than the 28th, but am willing to consider coming back before the 6th (although i would obviously like to stay the entire time)

thanks!!!!!!

I always used www.orbitz.com. They usally have good deals. I'm flying from Frankfurt to DC for 600$

For you I've found a ticket to Rome for 644$

Well, I sort of expected no approvals today. I think they pushed to get alot of their desks last week...will resume today..and tonight or tomorrow we will see the results of going BACK to work today. I have to wonder....I would think they'd approve the file..then it would be stacked for some data entry person to data enter..and that generates the emails and updates?? Well, made sense to me. Anyways...I think tomorrow we will see more..and I think as the Thanksgiving holiday comes...we'll see a push to get these approved from VSC. Thats just my personal theory. who knows...

Fares:

I found a flight to Milan for the exact dates for $617, with a stop in London. I don't know if there is any way you could fly on days that aren't weekends, but as mentioned by others before, it's usually cheaper.

For Cairo, I found $880 on Alitalia with a stop in Milan. On British Airways, with a stop in London it's $982. On Egypt Air, nonstop from JFK, it's $823

Anyone else?!

I'll take 3 tickets - first class if possible to Syria - not on Austria air if possible - leaving anytime from the end of jan to mid feb and coming back 3-4 weeks later.

Thanks! :)

December 31, 2006 - I call to wish him a Happy New Year (It was 3 am his time)

May 14, 2007 - Fly to Syria with my family to meet

May 18, 2007 - His entire family comes to my house to ask for my hand - I say YES!

June 15, 2007 - We get engaged in the church and have a reception for our families (it's the only "wedding" his family will see)

June 22, 2007 - I come back to the US

June 24-July 27,2008 - lots of research on VJ and work on gathering the papers needed...

July 31, 2007 - I-129F package received by VSC - YAY!!!! I was sooo excited getting the return receipt in the mail - on my way out to look for bridesmaids dresses :) Now all I need is a case number so I can track online - I'm so anxious!!!

August 13, 2007 - NOA1 - YAY!!!

JANUARY 8, 2008 - APPROVED!!!!

May 14, 2008 - he's finally here

June 22, 2008 - "Wedding Bells"

Philadelphia to Damascus (I put philly because i saw you were from PA, is anything else closer?) I wasn't able to come up with first class, but for 12 Feb - 04 Mar, it's about $1,264 with a stop in London.

Um, gosh, this feels lame, with all you exciting world travellers. I'll be spending the holidays with family in Ohio. How about a ticket from any NYC airport to CVG on Dec. 23 to Dec 26th, give or take a day, but not Christmas Day?

EDIT: the cheapest I have found is a little over $300.
