THis is the reply I recieved to my letter yesterday: Pretty "standard" reply.

Mr. Hill –

As I’ve indicated to a number of other folk who’ve recently inquired about fiancée petition processing at VSC, we do strive to do cases in order based on the date filed. While processing times for this petition have risen recently, that’s to ensure consistency with other similar products. For example, we do not want to put fiancée petitions ahead of petitions filed by those seeking to reunite their immediate families in preference categories where the beneficiaries will be able to apply for a visa once we approve the petition. Our goal for fiancée petitions continues to be 6 months, and, as we’ve indicated on our website, our Vermont Service Center is at that timeframe right now. I recommend you check our website occasionally for updates on our processing times. If you don’t receive an answer within the processing time, I suggest you contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 for assistance.

It is certainly possible that an isolated case may rarely be processed out of normal order based on the compelling circumstances, or where a case was used for training purposes. We recognize that every fiancée petition is time sensitive because of the very nature of these petitions. As a matter of fairness we do strive to move them into the adjudicative process in the order of receipt.

"where a case was used for training purposes." THIS makes sense. We know funding was approved to hire more adjudicators. We know VSC was to be hiring new employees before December...May I suggest those odd out of date approvals WERE indeed for training??? AND that this is a good thing...more adjudicators = more approvals...

Day 170 ..... .....Please let this be the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Bryon,

I think you had asked about how much time they officially give for an RFE, and while I don't know the answer to that from USCIS's end, I would guess that the VJ end puts the average at 10 days -- since when you look at a person's timeline and they have an RFE, like yours, it says it allows for 10 days extra. Maybe I am just stating the obvious here, in which case I apologize. But how many days has it been since the RFE? More than 10?

GOOOOOOOOOO VSC GOOOOOOOOOOO

This is something we in the July Filers forum had discussed a little... I didn't want to believe it, because in my opinion, why can't they train people on the petitions in order? Why pull an earlier one when they can train on everything else waiting in line? But it looks like I was wrong, and it's nice to see this answer from them.

What the hell? All that was missing from yours was a signature, correct? It seems like it should have been approved the same day they received the stuff back. Didn't Mirla's SO speak directly to their adjudicator about what they wanted for their RFE? Maybe if you could speak directly to your adjudicator you could get an answer out of him/her... I know this is tiring. Every day we all sit and watch and wait for you and other May people to be approved. I can't even imagine your frustration, especially as we watch June people (among others) get their NOA2's.

The question ist not what have been missing, the question is why cant they approve it after recieving what they asked for? I also have been touched twice after they have recieved the RFE and since then we havent heard anything. Every time my SO calls they will be telling him that we are still in the 60 days time frame and im already over 200 days :crying::crying::crying:

Sorry, I must have misspoke. I know this issue is not what they are missing, but my suggestion was that maybe if Byron could talk to his adjudicator he could get an answer as to why the petition hasn't yet been approved when all they were missing was a signature. Perhaps you could try the same? I know calling is usually results in nothing.... 200 days is unacceptable.

About two weeks ago, I called to VSC and spoke with this really really really rude customer service rep. She was so f@@@ing rude, she made me get nasty(though she couldn't hear it in my voice)

I persisted and insisted that she allow me to speak to her supervisor. She was shocked and kept telling me that she was trained and knowledgeable to help me and kept trying to get me off the phone. I kept my cool, thanked her for her kindness and knowledge, but insisted on speaking with her supervisor. Usually when they pick up, they say their badge number and name. When you call...write it down. She slowly melted when I said to her, "Officer (such and such), thank you for being so knowledgeable and kind today, but unfortunately I do need further assistance from your supervisor regarding matters that I know are out of your realm of expertise. Though I have enjoyed your dedication to provided me with excellent service, I do wish to be transferred to a supervisor. Officer (such and such) I know you want to help me and I wish you could, but I would like to move forth with this call by speaking to a supervisor. Officer( such and such) is it against your procedures to deny a customer's request to speak with a supervisor?......Man, her voice was calm and she said hold on mam.....

Her supervisor and I spoke for about 20 minutes. Unbelievably, she was so nice. After speaking with her, I felt like the approval was coming. She calm me down and answered all my questions. See....USCIS is a business. They don't want to be seen as having bad customer service. It's like those rude cashiers or sales reps that at stores. Sometimes, you have to remind them that they are not in charge.
