I don't get it.
  1. Byrun gets an RFE because his attorney screwed up again.
  2. Mirla is told that she only needs to wait a few more weeks which if it is true means that she could be the first of the group to hit the 6 month mark.
  3. There have been only 3 VSC approvals in the last 7 days. 2 of those were expedited mid and late September submittals while early May filers are still waiting.
  4. VSC can't even do the email and hard copy notifications properly when there is a rare approval.
  5. Based on the VSC approval pace over the last 7, 15, 30 & 60 days the best case projection for how long it will take from today to finish each month's petitions is 51 days for May, 132 days for June and 280 days for July.
But we are waving pom poms and yelling gooooooooo VSC? Members are posting that they are sure that so and so will have their approval any day now? Based on what? The power of positive thinking and the pom pom to change VSC policy? :goofy:

Call me negative. I don't care. When there is good news out of VSC I will be as positive as anyone else. In the meantime the reality is that VSC is doing a terrible job for us and unless they change soon most of us will be waiting a very long time for our approvals. :clock:

Please don't get me wrong. I am hopeful. I hope that Mirla is approved today and I hope that Byrun's RFE does not delay his processing by more than a few days. I hope that VSC gives us back our adjudicators very soon. I hope that May filers are all approved by the end of the month and I hope that June filers follow soon after. I also hope that I am not missing too much as my baby girl grows and learns every day while she is 5,000 miles away. I hope that my fiance's son is not becoming too old for us to form a close father/son relationship as we wait for VSC to finish processing petitions for employment visas. I hope I do not go bankrupt buying airline tickets so that we can be together as often as possible. I hope that Bella does not ask me tonight how much longer it will be because I do not want to see the tears in her eyes when I tell her that it looks like it might be a very long time.

I hope all of these things and many more. Unfortunately I am not sure of any of it because what I observe at VSC is not encouraging.

Hopefully things will improve soon. In the meantime, whenever I see those pom poms I find myself wishing VJ had a machine gun emoticon.

I understand exactly what you are saying and why you are saying it. There isn't any judgement, just understanding. I agree with you.

Yesterday my adjucation date was 10/27, today it is 10/18 (which is in the past). Just in case I needed one more thing to be pissed off about.... :o

There's a reason for that. Another NOA2 approval...someone filed beginning of OCTOBER and was approved in 2 weeks. That messes up the numbers till a real time approval comes in.

What really upsets me is no more lists from bszoom. I had hope you'd have picked up where he left off!! I know there isn't much progress to report, but I still loved those lists!!!

Unfortunately I have no idea how to mine the data in an automated manner the way bszoom does. I would be glad to do it if he shows me how. I sent him a message on something else a week or two ago but he never responded. His profile says he has not been on the site since the 14th.

I do post the summary data once a week which I think provides an impartial big picture view of what is going on at VSC. There is usually very little response so I assume most people here don't think it is worth doing. I know it is kind of gloomy, but it is an accurate reflection of VSC's pace of approvals and how many petitions are in the timeline. As long as VSC maintains its current pace the summary stats are going to look real bad.

Ahhhh...what a bummer! I'm sure he'd teach you but he must be all busy with his fiance (wife?) now. leaving the rest of us sad sacks behind. :crying::P

I am very sorry to hear this bad news. It seems that you and your family have received more than your fair share of medical problems. In this sitution it is difficult to think of words of comfort, but I will say keep your faith and do not give up. Eventually you will understand why life has taken you down such a difficult path. I will be thinking of you. (F)

Thank you Bill..means alot from you. You know we are all handed things for a reason. THis is the path God chose for me...for us. I did something today that didn't make me feel very good. I did call USCIS and requested expidition of our petition. I hope no one will be angry for this. I wont know for 5 days yet. But you have one point...that at the rate they are going, it could be another 3 months before i see progress. I dont have that long. So, Im sorry to every one that is waiting. I resisted that call for a while now...but with this diagnosis...i need him here. My father can be very inappropriate, hostile, throw things, he doesn'nt mean to be this way.. But its a handful to keep up with the messes he makes. He's comptetant enough to still get around...but its the cleaning up the messes, financially, mentally, and mechanically. I have no health insurance. I have to work nights t be home with them by day. My current job pays me well, and i need it for my SO's sponsorship. But I have no health insurance and about 30,000 dollars in medical bills of my own now.

Hmm;....didn't mean to air the laundry. But.....just in case they do expidite...I didn't want everyone to wonder how/why I got it when others are waiting. I was happy to wait my turn...till this turn of events..I hope everyone will understand. They were very understanding and I spoke directly to an Immigrations OFFICER who took my statement and forwarded the information to the adjudications officer. Makes me wonder:

1. How does he know which Adjudications office will handle my case? Is it assigned by country? By alphabet? Or just next office in line gets the request.

I do know that if ANY of you have extenuating circumstances, call. It can't hurt to try. If they insist on being THIS slow....it can't hurt. Takes 5 days for a decision. If u have medical issues, financial hardship or simply an extreme situation...call. The customer service rep will take information...will ASK if you feel you have one of these situations..then transfer you to an OFFICER. Not a customer service rep. The officer will ask questions, take your statement and forward it to an adjudications officer.

Just thought I'd pass that on, in case anyone else has extenuating circumstances.

Mirla, Byron and others, I pray your noa2's come soon. I can only imagine how frustrating it is to see others approved after you. But there is always a reason.

We are here for you (F)

Of course we will get through it all... Just hard without the help as a caregiver. ONE was enough, but TWO....wow. God never gives us more than we can handle. This I do know....but staying POSITIVE is my strength. We are told that God never gives us more than we can handle. That if we have the faith the size of a small mustard seed, we can move mountains. We are told that the working of our faith makes us patient, perfect and entire, wanting nothing. We are to count it all joy when we fall into diverse temptations and we are never promised all sunny days. Just that duing the storm, HE will be there to lead, guide, comfort.

There is a song....I hear every night when I work that gives me hope, strength and reminds me the ONLY voice I need to hear is Gods.

here it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS6ZiYA1Y8I

The voice of TRUTH....tells me a different story...the voice of TRUTH says do not be afraid......out of all the voices calling out to me, I will CHOOSE to listen and believe...the voice of TRUTH.

My battles are no greater than Byrons, Mirlas, those that wait...just different. The day IS coming....just hang in there....Im praying for you all as well.

Byron, Mirla and other early May filers...I still say if i get a job there...first thing I'd do is get your noa2's...who knows ....is the DIRECTOR position open??????    :whistle:  :innocent:

Totally agree Bill y Bella. Their service sucks, period! I am so tired of coming on here and seeing zero approvals, zero! I have been saying for a long time now that we will most likely wait about 6 months and many just sat back and did nothing. I cannot believe every K-1/K3 filer who isn't approved yet has not written their elected officials and media. This is sickening and mark my words, those that did nothing will regret it some day. Sure, the day will come some day and you will be happy when it does, but think of the time together with your loved one that they took away and you can never get back, and God forbid if one of them dies while waiting these unreasonable times. As usual, I see today they are too busy processing work visas, refugee visas, receipting issues, etc. above ours...I never said they aren't working. I have always said the system sucks and they work too much ###### above us--tax paying US individual citizens. :ranting:

Hey, there are no ill feelings towards you. You need to do what you need to do to take care of your family as best as you can. Good luck!

I have to wonder just how many of you are actually doing anything besides coming on VJ and ranting?

Don't take that to be an insult, I just wonder.

I have only been waiting 3 months (not quite) and I have sent out probably around 5 or 6 letters to important people. So far, I've had one returned (That'd be the Aguilar one) and one reply from one of my Senators.

My father, the cynical man that he is, says he doesn't think writing any politicians will help because I'm just one person in a very big country, and while I will not give him the pleasure of agreeing with him, he is not completely off base.

If only a couple of people ever do anything...the system cannot possibly be completely overhauled for the better.

I strongly encourage all of you, especially Mirla to find ways to write in to these people. Let your voice be heard. Nobody will ever know you're in trouble if you don't admit that you are.

Just my two cents, halfway between Bill y Bella and everyone else I think.

I completely agree. I wrote a bunch of letters to the news media as well as my local politicians. As I mentioned before, I am VERY cynical towards the government and did not expect any response. I was proved wrong however. My local mayor (Brian Stack of Union City) had his assistant call me and discuss my issue. She said they could not get involved in immigration issues so she forwarded my complaint to the Senators office. I have been playing phone tag with the Senator's office ever since. You know she actually called me back to find out whether the Senators office did in fact get a hold of me? I am not sure whether they can do anything, but it did make me feel like they cared a little bit.

:ranting:

Jesus christ.... Do you not think that's going a LITTLE too far? I know I said the other day that people need to rant occasionally to let of steam etc and that everyone handles things differently, but ffs! Get a grip!

How dare you say that those who did nothing will regret it one day. Who the HELL do you think you are?

Yes, this is a public forum and people can express their opinion in any which way they see fit, but you are really beginning to piss me off

I agree totally and you know from my past posts I have written many letters to elected officials and media. I wasn't really directing my post towards our regular posters on here, but to those who just lurch in and out as there are hundreds. I want them to be motivated to take action and not wait until it is too late to make a difference for themselves. It is too late for me now. I just know what myself and many of you have went through and really don't want others to go through the same frustration and pain or worse.
