I wouldn't buy that.

If you get to or past your 6 month mark, and you start raising hell, I am willing to bet you will see that approval before you know what hit you.

The government may be full of sh*t but if you start calling them on it outright like that, I bet you will get answers.

Once you pass the six month mark you are entitled to congressional assistance which typically gets things moving. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Good luck Byron and try to relax and enjoy the time you will be having with Leidy.

When I was in the Navy we were sometimes deployed for more than 9 months at a time. Then we'd be home for 6 months and leave again for another 9-12. It was horrible for relationships. Thank God we don't need to wait this long! Troops now are in the desert for more than a year at a time. Imagine living with that separation, and the possibility of never seeing each other again. Just think about that for a moment and this process doesn't seem so bad. ;)

If it would take us 15 minutes to win the war like it does to process a NOA2 I would understand the comparison...otherwise...keep writing letters to your congressmen, senators, etc. USCIS sets the 6 month timeframe and can extend it anytime they want.

My comparisons have nothing to do with policies or politics. I was speaking about the waiting and trying to help keep people thinking positively. Half full/half empty. But it's obvious some people prefer to be angry and negative. I'm sorry about that. All I'm saying is it could be worse. There's always going to be someone who has it worse than we do. Try to be thankful immigration is even an option for those we love. The waiting won't be so bad when we're looking back at it.

Understand, but every minute of every day is important to me to be with my loved one. Being in the Army for over 20 yrs and seeing people lose loved ones at young ages has drove me to this realization. VSC is stealing our lives from us...it ain't right. We have no guarantee to live long enough to reflect back on this process as a fleeting moment in time. Sorry, I can't be positive and upbeat about it and wait for the system to take care of me. We need to fight for our lives and to be with our loved ones. The body of the system is broke in many places and if we don't act like we are more like the heart and not a finger, we will be the last ones to get treatment.

I don't want to attack each other and sorry if I came across that way. We are all in this suffering together. Some have been suffering longer due to VSC's poor service and the longer, the worse it gets...

My daughter is married to a Marine. Over the last 6 years he has been deployed 5 times. 3 times to Iraq. And yes it is very difficult. My daughter is 24 raising two small boys basically alone. It puts a stress and strain on them. They've been married 7 years this month. So if a 17 year old can marry a Marine, bear him two children, give birth to her last one ALONE while he is in Iraq, raise these boys mostly alone and maintain a very long distance, SCAREY relationship...surely our mere 6 month wait for an initial answer is a drop in the bucket. He was there for the Shock and Awe...saw friends die..was shot at....endured many hardhips..but their love, commitment and determination have glued them together. My daughter spends her alone holidays making dinners for the guys on duty that can't go home, assisting new wives of Marines and new moms. Her way of dealing is to stay busy and help others. Suck it up guys...we can do this...the more positive we stay...the more FOCUSED we stay...the easier the wait will be. We have two choices...be miserable and watch the time tick...or be positive and find good things to do to fill our time. SEMPER FI...is the marines Moto...ALWAYS FAITHFUL. Lets be faithful to ourselves, to our loved ones and to our journey!!! So when you feel down...go to the mirror....and say...SEMPER FI....this WILL pass.... Find your inner strength and make it a good experience. A time of growth and successes. Byron, Mirla, and other who still wait from May...your time is coming...it is...hang in there...SEMPER FI !!! If my daughter can achieve all this from the young age of 17 to now....then I certainly can handle this short time in my life. My daughter is my inspiration in my journey...THANK YOU MEL...MOM LOVES YOU!!
