I just emailed Oprah at www.oprah.com about our plight to bring our loved ones and the broken down system, delays and lack of information that plague a petitioning family. If everyone emailed asking for a show to be done about those of us waiting for our loved ones...who knows...maybe she'll consider a show on it????

I didn't send anything to VSC, just FYI. I sent stuff to uh...I don't remember all of them honestly. The Ombudsman, the Office of Citizenship, MSNBC, and DHS I think I don't remember.

I e-mailed her too when I sent out my original 8 or so letters. I think everyone should send one to her. She's bound to do a story if she feels she can get the audience to shed a few tears.

Here is one attorney I found that seems to be "famous" I'd try emailing/mailing her...or we can have one representative of us schedule an appointment (im close or someone can to phone consultation) to ask questions on all our behalfs and bring letters from us/or petition to her in person for answers..pleading our case for help.

-Someone to get Immigration Attorney names who might back our cause

-Start a website

As for responses to our first letters, so far I have:

-An e-mail from the Ombudsman acknowledging the 'issues' at USCIS and saying they will look into it.

-Returned letter from Aguilar

-My Representative is looking into my case and contacted VSC

-One reporter who is going to write a story-->I'll let you know when and IF it goes to print

So, our efforts are not wasted. We just need to get - "BIG one" and we are better of than we were before we started.

Keep the ideas coming.................and, of course, you know I'm on board!!

This is karma or something.

I don't know if you all are familiar with "Ugly Betty". I'm watching it now.

Last season her dad was deported because he came into the country illegally. So he is Mexico and they applied for a visa for him to get back to the US. And he thinks that it is taking too long (he said 10 months to a year) and wants to cross the border illegally so that he can be with his family. And Betty says that he should wait for the visa and trust the system.

I still think we, or if I have to I alone, could cause a stir if we sent some chocolates as was suggested earlier. We could do a press release and say "US citizens with own immigration issue do flowers one better" or something.

I'm seriously considering a case of hershey's kisses (get the theme) to VSC. Maybe they'll think of us while they are eating and give us a little consideration?

You know US Wendy...Im still positive about our approvals...my issues is that this process has been broken for a long time. People before us have suffered, people after us will suffer. In Egypt...some people have waited 10 months or more (on THIS board) AFTER their interview for this Administrative Processing..there is no order to how things work, no outline,no enforcement, no accountability. I'd be devestated to have to wait 6 months for my noa2, 3 months till my interview then 10 MORE months in AP!! Thats a total of 19 months...OVER 1.5 years for my fiance..some go through more. The website links I posted here have much information...we aren't the only ones with this issue out there. I for one want to make a stand not just for me...but for everyone that comes AFTER me to.

I am willing to make this FEE based appointment with this immigration attorney to address our concerns. If you notice...H1 visas got attention and got things moving with a potential lawsuit. Wasn't until immigration attorneys got involved that USCIS acted. Maybe flowers got the media attention...but it was lawyers that got them moving.

I say a great way to gain media attention is a peaceful march in washington...or standing outside VCS with signs demanding action. I understand they are busy...that they are back logged..that they have gotten twice as many petitions for work as they anticipated...that Iraqis suffer and need assylum...but we are the basis for the American family, the American culture and the American Economy....WE..the USC is the base of America. We need to take care of our own....humanitarian efforts are great...but until we start putting the American family unit first...our country will continue to see a decline in American family morals, values and importance...a rise in divorce, angry kids with guns and violence.

Ok sorry for the rant..im just in one of those positive moods...POSITIVELY FED UP...that is...

Nope you are not alone...what can i do to help..how about hershey kisses with the days we've waited attached as a symbol of our plight?? I think this is a good addition to all the other efforts..what can I do to help???
