California Service Center and Vermont Service Center are currently assisting in data entry of employment-based I-485 and related forms (I-140, I-765, and I-131) received at Texas Service Center between the dates of 7/28 and 8/8. As a result, some applicants may receive receipt notices from a service center different than the one they originally applied to.

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD

This links you to the latest regarding receipt delays. It's been three months and I still don't have my hard copy, but I can live with that.

It's the first part about CSC and VSC working on data entry for Employment-based forms that makes me REAL nervous.

I think this 'hypothesis' has been explored before. This is jut an...FYI.

Your thoughts?

  1. It is good to see them at least trying to communicate better. :)
  2. Since this new information deals almost exclusively with receipting delays, we are still left guessing about the current situation on adjudications. :(
Good news: "USCIS is realigning its resources to eliminate the receipt delay as quickly as possible. This effort includes increasing the number of contract employees, as well as requiring significant mandatory overtime and shift work. USCIS also has temporarily detailed Government staff to centers that have been affected the most by the large influx of cases."

Bad news for K1 & K3 petitions, but maybe good news for those applying for AOS? : ¨The Application to Adjust Status (I-485) will have first priority because USCIS needs to ensure that these applications are receipted in a timeframe that would allow processing of an application for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) within 90 days of filing as mandated by law [8 CFR 247a.13(d)]. Our second priority will be to receipt the Application for Naturalization (N-400) so that we can minimize any delays in obtaining citizenship. USCIS is working to ensure all Applications for Adjustment of Status (I-485) are receipted and any accompanying applications for employment authorization documents (EADs) are processed within 90 days. USCIS is realigning its resources to meet this deadline.¨

This is a good link for those who are still waiting for their NOA1´s.

Correct US Wendy and Bill....I would not expect this for us until they are very close to busting the 6-month "goal" they have for us.

Q : How is USCIS planning to address this receipting delay?

USCIS is realigning its resources to eliminate the receipt delay as quickly as possible. This effort includes increasing the number of contract employees, as well as requiring significant mandatory overtime and shift work. USCIS also has temporarily detailed Government staff to centers that have been affected the most by the large influx of cases.

I just had a bad thought. You know how some of those who already have their visas can´t seem to get along with those of us who are tired of waiting? It all seemed so childish to me. But in light of the paragraph that follows, it appears that maybe we should be the ones who are annoyed. Those SOB´s took our adjudicators! :ranting:

¨The Application to Adjust Status (I-485) will have first priority because USCIS needs to ensure that these applications are receipted in a timeframe that would allow processing of an application for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) within 90 days of filing as mandated by law [8 CFR 247a.13(d)]. USCIS is working to ensure all Applications for Adjustment of Status (I-485) are receipted and any accompanying applications for employment authorization documents (EADs) are processed within 90 days. USCIS is realigning its resources to meet this deadline.¨

No, please don't go there!

It's not their fault, it's the USCIS's poor managment that led to this.

I'm annoyed with the behaiviour of those guys myself, but let's not ourselves start acting the same.

I HAVE NEWS..................

I called the Service Center RFE trick....WOW...she was soo nice and GAVE ME INFORMATION!!!! Can you believe it??

I told her I received an email that "looks" like it was from them asking for passport information and was concerned to verify before sending it. She looked and said it was not from them (really???). I said..ok thanks soo much...then using my past sales skills complimented her on being so nice...obviously this isn't the IRS I was dealing with cause I can't get that good of service from them...she ate it up...soooo I asked:

So, we filed in June and knew you were so fast...what happened? Here is the information I got:

1. They are slowed down from BULK petitions they recieved.

2. They are working to date on May 21 petitions as a general rule

3. Our June 19th NOA1 date should be worked in about a month.

I hope this gives everyone a bit of information to go on...to give you an idea when yours may be approved. She didn't know when they'd be finished with the back log...BUT if she was confindent mine would be worked in about a month...then they aren't expecting it to be caught up soon.... But the main thing is I felt I got information that I could use. And an estimate of what I can expect....Isn't that all we really want???

GOOOOOOOOOO VCS.............GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hi everyone! i just woke up and read my fiance's IMs. He said he called VSC today while at his work, gave him an info that they're processing May 18 petitions and that we'll hear something about ours very soon. His guess was right.

Wilson just became active reading the VJ forum lately cuz he's very busy. This was what my fiance has told me yesterday. By looking at the VJ timelines, he compared NOA1 chart from NOA2 chart, and then told me that he saw a pattern. What? what pattern? LOL i was like uhhh...so? I didn't know what he's talking about. He felt that the NOA1s were causing delays in processing NOA2s. He felt they wanted to free themselves up from NOA1s first before giving away NOA2s. So i gave him the number of filers each month from april to september to confirm his guess and found a pattern too making him more confident with his guess. I agreed him too. From april to may there was bulk of petitions filed at VSC, then slowly dropped in june and july, climbed up again in august, and guess what? it has a big decrease in september. He said that all May filers will be surprised to get their approvals very soon. I guess reading stock charts does really help A LOT.

I was very happy and excited today but it's not gonna be fair if those late may filers like us will get approved while some of those early may filers' cases are still pending. :( But don't you worry, I had you all in my prayers the other night especially Mirla who has been waiting for so long. Cheers to everyone! Never lose hope! Good evening.
