Approved ……….OMG … I just got an email from saying that we have been approved ….i am so happy crying … as soon as I saw the email I was scramming the neighbor came and asked if everything is alright lol how i fell right is like :dance::dancing::D:jest:

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

No offense, but I am kinda glad you don't work for USCIS. A privilege?? It is a "free country" so I am told.

Um, yes, it is. It's a 'free country' to its citizens.

Nowhere in any important document (IE: The Constitution, Declaration of Independence) does it say "All foreign nationals have a right to enter our country provided they do it legally".

Immigration, even legal immigration, is a privilege, not a right. Period.

Look around, there are plenty of people who'd be happy if we shut the borders today and not one more foreigner entered the country. I am not one of those people. I believe in the legal process, and if you follow it, and learn the language if you don't already speak it, welcome to America as far as I am concerned.

But if you think that the right to bring foreign nationals into our country is one of those 'inalienable rights' granted to us, you are unfortunately, mistaken.

Please don't misunderstand, I am not trying to cause trouble, I have written letters, and I am trying to get the process going better for all of us. But I believe if anyone goes around calling it "our right" to have our loved ones enter the country through immigration, the government just might laugh at you and tell you it's not. And that's not helpful to anyone.

I can definitely understand what you are saying about right vs. privilege, but It does appear in one important document, "The Declaration of Independence". quoted below:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed..."

Now, while it is not a law that outsiders have to be let in, one of the basic principles on which this country is founded on is the "pursuit of Happiness" therefore, in my mind, the government has no right to tell me that I can not marry a person from another country and bring that person to the US as my wife/husband. If they do that, they are no longer allowing me to pursue my happiness, and as such would be destroying the foundations on which this country was built. The government has every right to make laws to restrict and control the process, but they do not have the right to control anyones life like that. You know why? Because this is a representative republic, and what I say matters.

I will also agree with you that much of what I write above has no real impact on the real world, but this is the way it works IF WE WANT IT TO. All we have to do is find enough people to agree with us, and we CANT be ignored. If we are ignored, people get replaced. That is how the H1-B stuff got ahead of us. Many voices spoke loudly enough and made it happen.

Sorry if this comes across as a rant, as it is not intended to. I am simply trying to make a counter point of view that is just as legitimate as the point of view you have. No disrespect of your opinion intended and hopefully none implied.

And to be truthful with you, I am super young in this process, and have not waited long enough to be even remotely worried or upset. But I can see which way the wind is blowing and I am not liking what I see.
