I just saw in another thread that #4on Bszoom's list, Robin & Carl, were approved through VSC yesterday!!!

Finally a VSC'er ... i hope they keep em coming as the month winds down

I don't think they updated their timeline....I don't see their approval on the spreadsheet in VJ. Last it shows is the 18th?? I think...before the flood of CSC approvals...

Their timeline is updated now. Looks like they filed in late April and had a RFE in August.

Good morning. It's easy, Just go here--> http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1171038701035.shtm

I just e-mailed my request to participate and they e-mailed an approval in a couple of days. Won't have another one for a month or so, but I'd encourage you to participate. Hopefully, you have your NOA 2 by then, but if not, there are still some issues and concerns with USCIS that will continue to need to be addressed throughout this process. Petition approval is just the start of this LONG journey.

Bottom line is that he is aware of the problems at USCIS, but unfortunately can't do much about it. We pretty much have to target the govt./congress with this and will have to start with the senators. Sending letters to the media is a good idea-some ppl have already done that from VJ.

Where was this website for the Ombudsman and how do u get into the teleconference?

Hi all don’t know if this helps any but I really think that it a little messed up now at USCIS and it may look like they are getting things handled. For what its worth here is a recap of what happened to me.

1. Filed in May and got a May 9th and received an NOA1

2. Waited and waited like everyone else and received one touch on June 12th. Believed it is because I changed my address.

3. Waited again and heard nothing all the way till Aug 29 when I received a letter from NVC saying that I was approved and paper work was on its way to embassy. Letter was dated Aug 17. I was very confused at this point and called USCIS and they said I was not approved and it was pending still and would not give me any info even after I gave them the KEV# approval from NVC telling them it was approved. Confused and really worried now.

4. Called the NVC and found out that my paper work was at embassy on Aug 22 and waiting for interview and still USCIS said I was not approved and pending when I called.

5. At this point I called embassy and made interview date and got one for Oct 23rd and we are all ready to go. I was afraid to call USCIS because they still have me as pending and was afraid that my SO might get here and some computer would say OH no you are not approved and not let her in to the USA so I called USCIS again and told them they must have a real problem and someone must look in to it now. They did and asked me many questions.

6. I received finally an e-mail from USCIS saying that I will receive a letter or an RFE soon this was on Sept. 14 but it said nothing about an approval.

7. After that I now sit at home this week and I have received 3 NOA2 in the mail, yes I am very happy but all I am saying is keep up the faith and try and hang in there. It is not us I just think that what all the things going on right now and all the increases in fees that they are really screwed up at USCIS and the government workers that we talk to have know idea what is really going on. I talked to many people after theses mistakes and still really could not get a good answer till I received the 3 NOA2. All that tells me is someone is covering there ### and they know they messed up. GOOD LUCK to you all and hope things are going to get faster for you all.

Wow! I can´t believe it....That´s messed up! Something like that happened to a american-peruvian couple. The found out about their interview 2 days before! They didn´t have anything ready and to make things worse, she doesn´t live in the city (where the embassy is) so they had to re-schedule....!!! I already stopped questioning myself what kind of job USCIS does....Not a good one for sure.

I know your wait was difficult; I wish you the best. A timeline of under 180 days from submission to interview is not bad these days; I would be most pleased with a 6 month timeline. Just to keep my spirits from hitting the basement, I have planned an 8 month period but I sure hope it is only 6 months.

Hello udlike2no2,

What a story...it gives some hope anyway, I just hope it is not false hope for those of us waiting. I was wondering today while we are apart from our loved ones why it isn't so that since USCIS is so backed up they are not working over their weekend away from their loved ones like we are (at least for 8 work hrs anyway)...funny, when I was serving my country in the military I spent many days and nights away from my loved ones to fight for the freedoms and liberties those in these Government jobs enjoy...all I ask is some small payback in the form of reasonable and timely NOA 2s...not some ridiculously unacceptable 6 month goal that when added to the other steps involved can equal a year away from your loved one.

That's kind of scary. I hear what you are saying though because if your fiancee came over here they could just refuse her and send her back and then what? That's really crazy. Now you have the NOA2 in hand instead of an RFE but how did they do it if the file is in another country. The process has too many papers and too many hands on it. I wish I could just call Sue Smith (or whoever) talk to her about my plans to get married, get her to say cool can I come to the wedding and send my man a visa. :innocent:
