man, can we hide out in here from the rampaging that's going on in that other thread?

I typed out two replies to all that palaver over there but deleted them both; I don't see the point... what's with this 'veterans vs newbies' thing? it seems like a joke until you realise they're deadly serious... and the levels of condescension! do you think they KNOW they're coming across like that? it's just baffling... it's been a while since I've been treated like that; I don't enjoy it at all... it's like: since I only joined VJ in July, I know nothing; everything else I've done or experienced in my life is instantly invalidated because I've only been here a few months

Zee, I liked your comment over there; well done on sticking it up them... I wish I could join you, but both times it turned out a rant (stopped short of name-calling though; that would be a personal low ;) )

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Thanks. I had to say something. I think I am going to stick to posting my letter writing opinions here though.

I don't know. I understand that people want to give their points of view and all but do people have to be so nasty? I mean, it is a suggestion...no one is holding a gun to your head. I applaud all those who gave their opinions, for and against, but some people are just plain insulting. And the whole newbie thing just got me angry and that is when I had to say something. We we are not asking for anything, just informing people and if they want to join then go ahead. The ones who insist on putting us down just baffle me.

I mean, even here we had people who were like "it may not work" but then they said their piece, were respectful and left it at that. None of this name calling BS.

Sometimes you wonder about people.

Got a real one this time!

Congratulations to Charlene & Kevin. They received an NOA2 for their K-1 on Sep 18. Their NOA1 date was May 10. They were # 9 on the K-1 pending list.

There were no RFE's on their timeline. Could it be that the adjudicators are back and working on new cases?

Best of luck to them on the rest of their journey. :)

Sometimes you wonder about people.

man, you're not wrong... I finally had to say something as well; too much of the talk over there smacks of people trying desperately to maintain some authority they think they have... and the worst thing is, a lot of them DO know a lot, but they way they put it across is just rude, patronising and aggravating, and then they claim to 'want to help people'! I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and believe that they do, but then in my opinion they need to think LONG and hard about how they're coming across, and how they're making others feel

I dunno, I'm about to give up on this place... lots of angst, and for what? I've got better things to do with my time

I agree with Bill. We had a dead week and until there is a steady progress in processing time, being too excited is a bit premature but not necessarily a bad thing. :)
