Some swing voters in Warren, Mich., question Joe Biden's ability to lead the country — calling him a "puppet" who's not "mentally capable of being president" — while admitting they haven't paid much attention to his events, platforms or speeches.

While a focus group is not a statistically significant sample like a poll, the responses show how some voters are thinking and talking about the 2020 election in crucial counties.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the voters in the focus group were not seeking out details about what Biden is offering as an alternative to Trump.

Biden's lower profile in mostly virtual events was proving no competition for Trump's provocative attacks and national bully pulpit. Many of the voters couldn't name a single achievement Biden has had in his life.

Yeah but he and the DNC are really hoping that his recent pandering will make people forget all about his actual record.

 

Given he's no Hillary, he stands some marginal chance of success on that front, but there were enough leftists who were dead honest about not voting for a corrupt dbag, so they didn't vote, voted for Stein, Trump, and so on, or as the DNC calls them (esp when voting for Trump or Stein), "the Russians".

This is a big question the Biden campaign will face.  Right now they are content with the man in the basement, but there is no excitement for Old Joe.  There will be some next week when he names his Veep pick, but if the guesses are accurate and it is either Susan Rice or Kamala Harris, then that will die down soon as each of them has their own baggage which even though the MSM will ignore, there will be other reputable sources that will shine a light on them.  Then of course there will be Milwaukee, and I would expect if that event does progress in some fashion, there will be a sizable gathering of Marxist rioters as it is only a 29 hour drive from Portland.  As to debates, I doubt these will happen in any format as the Biden team will throw up a bunch of strict prerequisites, and of course blame Trump for not meeting them.  In the end we will have a choice between a ghost candidate that has a hard time keeping his mind in the moment and a rather centrist Trump that a lot of folks hate simply to hate him.  Will folks vote for Biden just due to his Veep pick, or because they simply hate Trump, we will see.
