My fiancée is in Mindanao and looking to buy an all in one printer so she can help her kids with their school work.

What are some of the better electronics retailers? I have looked at a few of the dealers I know, like Gaisano. But their websites are very dilapidated and outdated, don't work or provide any useful information. I found a price list, but they are selling printers that are 2-4 years old at their original prices.

Are you talking about new old stock or used?

YMMV

New stock. I'm looking at a price list from Gaisano and have visited the Gilmore Computer Center website. The products advertised are models that were released several years ago as I am seeing reviews on YouTube from 2017 and older. But the store is asking upwards of 250 when the product only sold for 110 or less in the States at release time... 2-5 years ago.

You can buy an unopened product on Amazon or Ebay now for 50-75.

Doesnt surprise me.  The printer I bought was about half again or maybe 2x more than what I could buy it for from here.

YMMV

Prices there are way too high.  If you plan to visit (obviously not right now), buy here and then check the unopened box as luggage.  But camouflage the box to make it look like the box is being used for something else so that it is less theft prone.

Thank for for updating your timeline. (My Assistant, then edit/add my timeline.)

Epson with the tank for ink, then no cartridge issues.   These printers cost more so if this is not a long term printer may not be the best.

I bought one here and shipped it over, price was not dramatically different.   I liked the ink tanks over trying to find cartridges

All electronics are 2-4 years old and double the price.  It doesnt matter too much where you shop.  Mentioned above is Devant which I think they just do TVs.  I had a Devant which was actually OK, however its just rebranded in the Philippines.  The real manufacturer is Hisense which is a Chinese brand.  The TVs are made in China.

If you were in Manila, Cash & Carry is a decent options for electronics given what the other choices are.  However everything is always 2-4 years old for any type of computer electronics or TV's.  Greenhills area also can get some so called "latest" computer gadgets but thats also in Manila.

You could always try Lazada or Shopee, in fact for Mindanao that will probably be your best bet.  Be prepared though to wait awhile as the shipping times are very slow at this moment.  I bought a mobile phone off of Lazada on July 12 to be shipped to the province for my son and it still has not arrived.  If you do buy from one of these sites, use the COD option for paying.  That way if the package never shows up, then your not out any money, just lost time.  You wont have to fight with your credit card company.  I have seen many packages take 1-2 months (pre-COVID) and by paying cash, it allowed us to buy from somewhere else and not wait.  Lazada was going to get rid of their COD option a few years ago but has decent not to for the time being.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

Great Point on using COD,  it's the only way to go

COD is an interesting payment method.. Seeing as how it's not available in the US.

The only time I did not want to use it was when I sent a surprise anniversary gift to my fiancée. However, can't seem to get lazada or shoppee to accept my US debit cards, so I don't have a choice.
