Help I have been to columbus airport 3 times and the 3rd time instead of stamping in my passport they stamped the visa waiver program card instead.

I have to leave the us in a few days and im worried what will happen when go back to columbus.

sorry if this is the wrong section.

You need to give us whole lot more information than that

Why are you here, K1,3,

if your intent tis to immigrate, why then did you get a visa waiver card

we need a little more

ok when you go through an airport you get to customs. they take your information ask business or pleasure where your gonna be staying etc etc then they ask you for your passport and they stamp it and allow you to go on your way.

the last 2 times they stamped a blank page in my passport (declaring where i have been in the past) but this time they had stamped the card (and not the passport) that they take from me once i leave the country.

i am just wondering will that cause me any greif going home because of an error the customs officer had done.

So your only issue is that the entry stamp got put on the back of the green card [as in a card that is green], not onto a blank page, correct?

That's not customs, that's immigration. Customs are the folks after you get your bags who ask "Anything to declare?"

You're referring to the I-94 card (though possibly it's called something like I-94W for the VWP).

AFAIK the important thing is that they take it back. The passport stamps don't matter so much. The important thing is that you leave before your time is up and they take the card to prove you did. If you really want to be paranoid, make a photocopy before you leave. And maybe keep your boarding passes.

Immigration knows when you came, they entered your info into the computer. As long as you leave on time, you're fine.

When you leave, the airline employee at the checking counter will take the I-94 and you will have nothing on your passport that shows that you entered the US legally. I don't think this should be an issue because they only check passports when you check-in and then when boarding just to verify the name.

What do you think?
