Qatar Airways not allowing k1 visa to travel

Has anyone traveled from the Philippines with Qatar Airways under K1 lately ? Is it true they won’t let you board with a k1 visa ? Someone said they were denied while trying to check in because of the current travel restrictions the Philippine government is imposing. Are k1’s really not allowed to fly out?

Best to call the airline to get first-hand info. There's a travel ban in place now for Filipinos but there are exceptions (emergencies, medical/humanitarian, those with permanent resident status abroad). Please call the airline and the Bureau of Immigration to be sure.

My wife cousin is a Flight Attendant for Qatar, She started out working for Cebu Pacific.  I will have her send her a message on FB to see what she says, She does international flights

I would really appreciate it @Allovertheworld. I already contacted bi and they said k1’s are allowed also contacted qatar customer service and I was told that on their list of visas allowed to fly out k1 isn’t included. It just doesn’t make sense when BI is okay with k1’s flying

Just get a different ticket on a different airline.  The best route is Manila straight to the US with no connections.  Once they arrive the US, a connecting flight to final destination is no problem.  There have been a few successful people who have done this route here on the board in the last month.

 

Also, Qatar just recently started to allow transit passengers.  At the beginning of this month or end of June that was not possible.  So, I would imagine there is still alot of confusion on that.  

 

I am moving our Executives around to different countries over the last few months and its a nightmare out there.  Many airlines are taking payments knowing that the flight will be cancelled.  Some countries dont allow transit, some allow if connecting flight less than 4 hours or 8 hours, some have no restrictions, some require a COVID test taken 48 hours before, some countries say 72 hours before, etc etc etc etc.  As I said, do not transit.  If the direct flight is more, then pay more for that ticket.

She is furloughed, (not working at the moment and stuck in Qatar). She is not up to date with their policies as of late
