Seems very odd.

Your stepmom has offered to file for you?  Why has she waited so long given you were asking about this two years ago?

What country are you from, by the way?

Well alot went on in the past two years. And in 2018 I kinda changed my mind about going mainly due to personal reasons. 2018 was one hell of a year let's just say that.  And I'm from the England

He's in the states. He's just on a really long pending Adjustment of status that's been going on for a long time. Doesn't have an actual green card yet.

So he didn’t have an immigrant visa? That’s odd. He would have been eligible for it given that he is married to an LPR. How did he get into the country?

Yeah, I guess you may have to just get used to staying in England unfortunately. You have other family there I hope?

AOS as F2A back then would certainly have been more unusual given priority dates were still in place.
Anyway I suspect there is a lot more background to this AOS story than we’ll get to know here.

No, things do not lol good for the F2B category. There are few categories that are suspended. If you have hopes of moving to the US I would suggest to apply now. The wait is only growing, your country of citizenship matters and this visa category could be cut in the future- no one knows. Expect it to be much longer than 2.5 years.

Apply as soon as possible, I think this visa will cut in future and if u have pending petition thn u have chances

I mean the bulletin has been moving pretty fast as of recent?

Personally I would ignore the bulletin and look at the current state which is the visa isn’t being processed for the remainder of the year which means a huge backup once they open up- so unless people have withdrawn their application or no longer qualify - the wait time will increase

What was your priority date if I may ask? And when did you adjust your status?

I was originally F2A but aged out in 2016 when USCIS switched to follow Final Action Date instead of Date for Filing,  so got bumped to F2B. My priority date is August 7th 2015, and it became current this May, but filed in June due to some extra paper works. I got my I-797C notice of receipt around June 24th, and nothing else since.

Alright could someone please write a clear suggestion on whether it's best for a 21 year old to be sponsored by a green card petitioner, or to wait for the petitioner to naturalise. My petitioners are seeming to think for some reason that if they wait to naturalise it'll be more advantageous for me. Could someone write a clear paragraph countering or affirming this, and noting what categories I'd be in for each situation so that I may show them your message. Thanks 😀
