Good civil surgeon in DC area?

Hi folks,

By any chance someone living in the DC area recently went to do the medical exam around here? I found a lot of doctors in the USCIS website but I'd like to have some recommendations, especially affordable options. If the doctor also speaks Spanish would be fantastic. I don't mind to drive a little if necessary.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Major caveat that I haven't been to either of these doctors, but I found this while trolling through old VJ posts from a year or so ago:

3. 8. Medics USA Medical Center

Dr. Khurram Rashid

2750 14th Street Northwest Suite C

Washington DC 20009

202-595-8813

&

1700 17th Street Northwest Suite A

Washington DC 20009

202-483-4400

😃 This doctor's office maintained I needed to do the medical examination even though I had one oversees less than a year ago. They charged $245 for the medical. The waiting time to get an appointment was one week.

"I went to Dr. Anchors (16220 Frederick Rd # 210, Gaithersburg, MD 20877, (301) 990-6061) and paid $160 for the exam and the required tests.

I can highly recommend him. The other doctors I called in the DC metropolitan area were charging around $300-500 (every test added up)."

I found this site:  I booked an appointment, and didn't get much info from them, and pretty much forgot I had booked it, lol!  I got a call the day before from the clinic reminding me that my husband has an appointment.  Due to other reasons, we had to cancel that medical and will reschedule - but they verified that the price on the site was correct.

Interesting but true, they do not give much information of the clinics... I found one for $120. So cheap!

I was going through the Civil Surgeon list provided by the USCIS and getting frustrated - either the doctors were no longer at that location, or they weren't doing them anymore.  The clinic I found through this site is listed on the list, I checked after I spoke with them.

@SusnOwen @juancarlos - I just received word that my appointment is scheduled, so I will need to do my medical.

Any recommendations on specific doctors that either of you went to please?

Hello

My mother did her medical in Silver Springs it was about $300, it could be less if you have all your vaccines or could get them done and covered by your insurance. It is called Primary Care of Silver Spring. See the details in the picture attached. They do speak Spanish and have a good turnaround I believe a week max, or a few days if you don't xrays for the TB test.

You can always call them to get an estimate.

I did mine there as well back in 2018 and the staff is nice and efficient.

Good luck on the interview

We used a doctor in Bridgeport that I found through the link I provided. My husband went to his primary care doctor first and did all his immunizations and bloodwork - It cost $75 for the civil surgeon.  The one thing we forgot was STD testing, and they dinged us for $300 for that.

Closing the loop here... I went to Dr Emanuel Brown in Rockville - it was $285 for vaccine transcription and bloodwork. Definitely not the cheapest, but it was smooth and easy. I just brought proof of vaccinations for everything I needed (records from my home country plus CVS receipt for Tdap). First visit was blood draw, second visit was very quick physical. I booked through EasyIME and the price they quoted was what I paid.
