Hello

My daughter, age 12,  got her travel document in the beginning of July, the actual passport which was green and not white

Me and my wife are still waiting on the appointment for biometrics with USCIS.

Finally a few days ago  we got our appointments for next week, but our daughter also got an appointment even though we already have her travel document.

Does anyone know if she really needs to show up for the appointment, we're a vacation in europe so I would rather not bring her back to the states for this

We are permanent residents with Green Card. Our lawyer could not give a straight answer.

What exactly are biometrics, I thought it was only fingerprints, which children under 14 does not need to do

Thanks

Are you getting re-entry permits and then leaving the US for a year or more?

She wouldn't need to go to another appointment if she already has one.

When did you apply for the reentry permit?

I finally got to speak with an officer at USCIS and she told me that even though we got her reentry permit, she still needs to provide biometrics 😞

Yeah that's too bad.

I called to expedite biometrics for a reentry permit due to urgent travel, and was told that I need to "go through the process" and cannot speak to a supervisor.  Any advice regarding this?
